A healthy start begins before birth. From antenatal checkups to skilled delivery and postnatal care, mothers need support at every stage. With @UKinSomalia funding, @ACFsomaliaCD and partners provide free maternal health services across 25 @CaafimaadP facilities in #Somalia.
@ACFsomaliaCD enrolled 1,020 families in nutrition programs and provided $100–160 per family per cycle for 3 cycles, based on #Somalia Cash Working Group transfer values, with funding from @eu_echo and @SwissEmbassyKE. Linking cash and nutrition helps prevent child malnutrition.
In Hudur, the Gabiney borehole has improved access to water for 8,000+ people and provides dedicated drinking troughs for livestock. @ACFsomaliaCD implemented this water infrastructure with funding from @shf_somalia. Watch the video 👇

Building a food-secure future starts with solutions today. From solar-powered irrigation and greenhouses to stronger value chains, @ACFsomaliaCD helps communities across #Somalia adapt to climate shocks, diversify food production and strengthen livelihoods. #WorldFoodDay
Handwashing with soap helps prevent diarrhea and infections that affect nutrient absorption and children's growth. Through health facilities and community activities, @ACFsomaliaCD promotes hygiene to improve nutrition and protect families. Clean Hands, Healthier Communities!

Now LIVE in #Mogadishu: the launch of the @CaafimaadP-led immunization project for South Central Somalia.
Working with @MoH_Somalia and partners, we will bring vaccines to more children in access-constrained areas and protect them from vaccine-preventable diseases.
When a child leaves the nutrition centre, the work of keeping that child well continues, and @ACFsomaliaCD, supported by @GAC_Corporate, stays alongside families through follow-up care, cash assistance and clean water, as two mothers’ stories show.👇

A cash transfer can mean food, water, debt repayment & one less worry.
With @SwedeninSomalia funding, @ACFsomaliaCD has reached 930 households in #Somalia’s Eyl, Rabdhure & Jamame. 1,500 more in Baidoa & Banadir will be reached by December through El Niño preparedness & response.

Timely support from @UKinSomalia at a critical moment!
This funding enables @CaafimaadP and partners to keep health facilities operational, deploy mobile units, and scale integrated health, nutrition, WASH, and protection services as part of the El Niño response.

When crisis hits, a health facility can be a lifeline. Through @CaafimaadP, with @UKinSomalia funding, @ACFsomaliaCD is supporting 9 health facilities across 4 regions to bring lifesaving care closer to families affected by drought, conflict & displacement. #Partnership
Delivering results! Through inputs, irrigation & the promotion of agroecological practices using farmer field schools, @ACFsomaliaCD supported 20 farmer groups in #Baidoa, enhancing local food access, supply to markets & building long-term community resilience.

A revolving loan gave Asho Abukar, 39, a mother of six in Diilin village, steady income. Trained in tailoring but without a machine, she now runs a shop and tailors for income, covering school fees and better meals. Facilitated by @ACFsomaliaCD, funded by @SwedeninSomalia.
Climate shocks drive severe malnutrition & disease in children, making integrated care a matter of survival.
In Hudur, @ACFsomaliaCD links routine screenings, outpatient care, & stabilization wards into a single care pathway so no child falls through the cracks.

We are establishing five Soil and Water Conservation(SWC) Learning Sites across Baidoa, creating practical spaces where farmers can test, compare, and learn what works best for climate-resilient agriculture in the Bay region.
Each site is testing four soil-health treatments alongside current farmer practices:
▪️ Compost
▪️ Biochar-enriched compost
▪️ Well-decomposed manure
▪️ Organic mulch
The sites will also demonstrate minimum tillage and integrated Permagarden systems—approaches that help conserve soil and water while supporting diverse, productive cropping systems.
In three days, farmers received hands-on training in site layout, SWC structures, composting, biochar preparation, planting, irrigation, and monitoring.
The sites will be maintained for at least two years, generating practical evidence on crop performance, soil moisture, labour, yields, costs, and farmer preferences. This evidence will help farmers identify successful practices and adapt them to their own plots.
With appreciation to @aics_it and @ACFsomaliaCD for making this work possible.
Giving birth was one of the hardest things for women in Wajid for years. Since 2023, @DamalCaafimaad has changed that, a fully operational CEmONC center now brings emergency maternal & newborn care right into the community. 📽️👇

To build resilience in #Somalia, we must scale climate-smart models like localized fodder farming & animal care. As seen with Kawsar in Eyl, it protects livestock, boosts income & cuts disaster risks. Supported by @ACFsomaliaCD & @Sida via @SomRePOfficial.

Today, @ACFsomaliaCD and partners launched IMPAACT, an Anticipatory Action Project, in #Mogadishu, harmonizing early action triggers and contingency planning for timely response. Funded by @eu_echo.
