imagine if someone suggested cramming all these people onto the pavements to make space for motor traffic down the middle

This remains an absolutely incredible website
The pedestrianisation of Oxford Street. What we thought it would look like and what it actually looks like 🙁 #oxfordstreet #london

Watching the Barcelona vs Real Madrid highlights from last night and it's amazing how much La Liga has enshittified its presentation. Massive AR pitchside ads, AR ads next to the goal, the whole thing looks like a bad video game. No wonder no one wants to watch it anymore.

Imaging going back thirty years and telling third-tier Bournemouth they'd be tonking Milan and Man United 3-0 in the same week

For all that everyone likes blowing smoke up Belloumi's arse, his decision making is awful #hcafc

I'd love to see the xG stats. I reckon that one good chance Cho created was worth more than all of Belloumi's half-chances #hcafc

If you're booing the "no room for racism" protest, you are saying there should be at least some room for racism. This is not rocket science #hcafc

The attempt to turn "mayor of Manchester meets one of the city's biggest employers and businesses" into a scandal is pretty embarrassing for everyone involved
🚨Now it's SIX Meetings With Man City, Not the One He Told Parliament Andy Burnham told MPs he had only one significant meeting with Manchester City's Abu Dhabi owners while mayor. The Sun has now counted at least six contacts with the club's hierarchy. Two dinners with chairman Khalsa on Al Mubarak in 2017 and 2018, a 2019 stand-side chat, the 2021 summit he later called his sole significant meeting, a 2023 sit-down with CEO Ferran Soriano, and a 2025 meeting with former COO Roel de Vries. The dinner entries then disappeared from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority website. Burnham says the dinners were ordinary hospitality, that City's financial case was never discussed, and that he is happy for a full trawl. Fair enough - if the public is expected to accept that a prime minister's earlier relationship with owners now found guilty of almost every one of 115 Premier League charges was purely incidental. The gap between "one significant meeting" and six is not a rounding error. It is a credibility problem

I'm not convinced top-down efforts are the way to go with stuff like this tbh. You're more likely to get success if it's fans trying to convince other fans it's a shit song, whereas when it's an outright ban people instinctively rebel

It's a real shame that the one football club we all get to feel moral superior to is also the only Premier League club with a genuinely funny fanbase and a fan culture that hasn't been *totally* crushed
Held up at an angle to shut up all the moaning minnies in the control room.

It's bizarre how the Croatians seem to have memed themselves into getting angry about It's Coming Home

I continue to find it insane that we don't think adding a load of fake digital pitchside ads into football broadcasts isn't extremely weird and creepy #croeng

What we learned from the great alcohol football debate: - Andy Burnham shooting from the hip is counter-productive - English people love making up a guy to feel superior to ("pint chuckers" ffs) and it should be studied - No football journalist actually read the Fan-Led Review

Manchester City deserve to be liquidated (for their true crime, those fucking horrendous double-decker advertising hoardings)

This is low, even by the standards of the UK Football policing unit, casually linking the Taylor report post Hillsborough and football tragedies to changes in the law on drinking at matches Drinking in view of the pitch didn’t cause deaths or injuries - policing failures did

It should also be pointed out, that UK Football Policing conveniently ignore this from the final Taylor report. When talking about alcohol bans, he says: “I hope, in halcyon days ahead, a better atmosphere at football grounds may justify bans being relaxed."

The extent to which the English have invented the "pint chucker" as a serious social problem based on a couple of viral videos deserves proper study. There's something very 1990s "nonce panic" about it.

When will Andy Burnham tackle the real problems facing English football (banning the England band)
