Those who claim to "defend" Ukraine by sacrificing it in a proxy war to bleed Russia can't help but flaunt their callousness. Their Blood, Our Bullets.

Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed gave his victory speech in Arabic last night. Rep. Ilhan Omar addressed her victory party in Somali.
And this morning, Iran's supreme leader posted that America's collapse "has accelerated."
What should we make of these acceptance speeches? @SulkinMaya
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

Thank you @aaronjmate for the chance to talk about neocon/warmonger meltdown over the election on @UsefulIdiotpod
They are the "single biggest losers" of Tuesday's elections and we need to keep clanging that bell.

“The biggest single loser of the midterms was JD Vance.”
Watch @KelleyBVlahos of @RStatecraft explain why everyone is turning on JD Vance, even Israel-first pro-war never-Trump neocons like Jonah Goldberg
Damn. Too Islamophobic for The IDF Prison Guard Gazette.
In this week's Ragebait, I report on James Kirchick parting ways with The Atlantic amid the outrage over several recent Islamophobic tweets.
I was told that Kirchick ended his contributing role, and sources said the tweets sparked uproar among staff.

Mike Turner devoted his energies to lobbying for the Ukraine proxy war and other neocon projects. Ohio voters apparently have other priorities:
For their part, multiple Ukrainian negotiators have said that Russia has made genuine concessions for years. For example, Ukrainian negotiator Oleksandr Chalyi, who said the two sides “managed to find a very real compromise” at the Istanbul talks of 2022. Worth another try. Also worth playing this clip on CNN for the first time.
Given that Democrats won the anti-war vote, it will be interesting to see if they continue to act in lockstep with the planet’s top warmongers, e.g. Mike Pompeo and Lindsey Graham, when it comes to the proxy war in Ukraine: 🍿

Even though he could have likely prevented a Russian invasion, Biden insisted on a NATO "open door" to Ukraine that was in fact closed. Now the European Union continues to tighten the bolts:
EXCLUSIVE: The European Commission is preparing a more cautious roadmap for Ukraine’s EU accession negotiations, setting out limited targets for progress in 2027 while avoiding any commitment to a membership date.

The Free Press: Where the news is AI, and the Islamophobia is human.™️
this is why I love working at @VanityFair
yesterday, I saw half our staff clustered around our fashion correspondent's desk poring over this photo. As José puts it, "The image has several discrepancies. The style and make of the Chanel Flap bag is inconsistent with others the brand has sold, and the Valentino shoes in question appear askew in proportion; their straps have several punched holes that the authentic Valentino style does not."
AI image detectors confirmed that yes, Olivia Reingold used an AI-generated image to make her point, without a drop of disclosure. Wild!!!!

Defense industry funded NATO think tank says Ukraine's fate is secured not through peace deals, but the defense industry:
Ukrainians have little faith in written guarantees.
Their most realistic security guarantee is a strong Ukrainian military backed by a powerful domestic defense industry, writes Leonid Baratz.

Even Trump admitted he lost because of the Iran war but Tony, stuck in his Biden-era script, makes it about “allies and autocrats”
The midterm results send a clear message: How we show up in the world affects our lives at home, and Americans understand that. When we alienate allies, appease autocrats, impose arbitrary tariffs, and drive needless conflict, American families pay the price. The Administration’s actions over the last two years have had real consequences for our security, our economy, and our everyday lives. Americans have spoken loud and clear. We should act on the message they're sending. A good place to start: a diplomatic resolution to President Trump's war of choice with Iran.

Insert the identical, updated, beautiful provision into the December 11 Continuing Resolution
As @ChrisVanHollen @RoKhanna note, this is the most efficient and effective way to end the illegal Iran war:
Obama resisted a pressure campaign by virtually all of Washington to intensify the US role in the post-2014 Ukraine war. Democrats abandoned that position when he left office and the Russiagate era began.
Replying to @aaronjmate
Obama's relative restraint regarding what? Not being snarky, but Obama's 2 terms were a nightmare for the world in terms of undeclared wars & covert ops.
"I want us to get back to being the antiwar party."
The elephant in the room here is the Ukraine proxy war. Since abandoning Obama's relative restraint and blaming Russia for Clinton's defeat in 2016, Democrats have become a pro-war party against Russia. So much so that progressives were shamed into abandoning their mild call for diplomacy in October 2022.
Trump capitalized on that in November 2024. JD Vance will absolutely try to do so again. Anyone committed to winning the antiwar vote will have to reckon with this. Being antiwar doesn't allow you to pick and choose the wars to oppose.
.@TVietor08: We should say we will not vote to fund the government unless you cut off funding for the illegal war. When we take power, Democrats should force votes to constrain him or make him end the war with Iran. We should impeach Pete Hegseth. I want us to get back to being the antiwar party.

Fuck this guy and all the other LIARS who push this notion that a foreign country committing genocide and ethic cleansing is ENTITLED to American resources.
The people have spoken. If you support Israel there will be severe political consequences. That goes for the Dems too.
The ad is anti-Semitic. (Also pretty glib and tasteless, but whatever!) I'm not lying or paid to say this. I don't equate being anti-Israel with being anti-Semitic. but also not saying the word "Jewish" isn't the one weird trick you want it to be.
Only good that can come from you promoting yourself at the expense of Abdul's campaign in the final days of an election where the stakes are so high is that you've created an opportunity for Abdul to denounce the ad and demonstrate his commitment to opposing anti-Semitism on the left and representing Jewish voters in Michigan as a Senator.
