We went back to Alere S.S. in a refugee settlement in Adjumani to distribute sanitary pads to girls (and hygiene packs to boys)… As the male champion and +1 to the Danish Ambassador @DKAmbUganda some time back I drew women rights related cartoons that were auctioned to raise money for reusable pads. These were topped up by @AFRIpads and @UNFPAUganda, together with other items that were given out at this school today. The involvement of boys at this school in engaging harmful practices, creating menstruation awareness and fighting stigma among themselves is quite inspirational. So much to share about the experience, but first the joy of engaging with these young souls.

Menstrual health goes beyond providing sanitary products. It also requires safe and accessible toilets, clean water, handwashing facilities and an enabling environment for girls and women.
@PatriciaHumura of @AFRIpads calls for practical interventions that address these gaps.
