Ken Griffin is pouring billions into Miami.
Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg are buying up Miami real estate.
Peter Thiel and Keith Rabois have planted roots here.
Palantir moved its headquarters here.
Adam Neumann is building Flow, a venture-backed residential ecosystem connecting real estate, technology, and community, with a major footprint in Miami.
Larry Ellison is in Palm Beach.
And people still want to pretend nothing is happening in South Florida.
Between Miami and Palm Beach, the concentration of capital, influence, and access is becoming impossible to ignore.
San Francisco has an incredible talent pool. Nobody is disputing that. But it’s also one of the most saturated ecosystems in the world.
A lot of people are so deeply rooted in SF that they can’t imagine the next major tech ecosystem developing anywhere else.
But builders aren’t supposed to think about where everyone is today. They’re supposed to think about where the opportunities will be tomorrow.
Capital moves. Talent follows. Ecosystems form.
I’m not dumb enough to act like SF is dead. I’m saying you’d be stupid to assume it will be the only place that matters forever.
The smartest builders think two moves ahead.
Miami is the move.
Don’t be a sheep.
How to get Solana Foundation to support your project 101:
✨ Ask yourself one question ✨
If your project disappeared tomorrow, what meaningful technology, infrastructure or value would the Solana ecosystem actually lose?
There’s a difference between building something on Solana and building something that moves Solana forward.
Launching a token, building an app, creating a platform, growing a community or entering an already crowded category doesn’t automatically make your project strategically valuable to the ecosystem.
Are you bringing net-new users onchain? Building differentiated technology? Solving a problem existing products haven’t? Unlocking new use cases? Driving meaningful adoption?
And most importantly, can you actually prove it?
The Foundation’s job isn’t to make your project successful. It’s to help the ecosystem succeed.
Those two things aren’t always the same.
If your business model depends on ecosystem support just to survive, you need to ask yourself why the ecosystem should be investing its resources into sustaining your company, project or token in the first place.
I think MANY founders need to face the music and be willing to admit that what they’re building might not be as strategically valuable as they think it is.
If they come at me with pitchforks I’ll know it was because of this post, but I’ve let it fester in drafts long enough :
KOL traders selling out to become puppets for protocols and apps might be one of the greatest marketing plays in crypto history. It’s also completely bastardized the trading experience.
Trading has always been a bit of a show. But the difference is that the KOLs, trading groups, and devs used to create the show themselves. They coordinated narratives, manufactured hype, and figured out how to rig the system in their favor.
Now they don’t even have to rig the system because the system is rigged for them.
And they’re all in bed with the people running it.
Every viral coin feels like a three-act production. The massive wins, the public meltdowns, the dramatic losses. Even watching the main character get absolutely wrecked can be part of the entertainment.
Except the main character might be getting paid behind closed doors regardless of whether they win or lose.
The audience thinks they’re watching someone just like them take the same risks. In reality, they may be the only ones with actual skin in the game.
The losses are content. The wins are marketing. The relatability is manufactured.
The protocols and apps print money. The KOLs get paid. The chains celebrate record volume. And retail gets led to slaughter.
I used to genuinely love trading. I loved the chaos, the discovery, and the feeling that anyone could find something early and win.
I haven’t traded in months because I have no interest in being an unpaid extra in someone else’s scripted production.
As a marketer, I’m torn between being impressed and disappointed. Because it’s sincerely a masterclass in marketing, distribution, and generating trading volume.
But at what cost?
We’ve become so fucking obsessed with celebrating the numbers that we’ve stopped zooming out to observe the ripple effect.
If everyone on stage is getting paid and everyone in the audience is paying to participate, are we even building a market anymore?
Or are we just selling tickets to a show?
The last thing I’ll say is that I don’t really blame the KOLs.
When the entire system is designed to reward this behavior, you can’t be surprised when people play the game.
And I’m not suggesting every trader is secretly getting paid or every loss is scripted. There are plenty of genuine people out there.
My criticism is of the incentive structure that has made it increasingly difficult to distinguish authentic trading from paid entertainment.
The KOLs aren’t the architects of this new system. They’re just the most visible beneficiaries. But they are also the scapegoats and very disposable. They will use you until you’re useless.
Im sad we’ve built an ecosystem where extracting value from users is celebrated as “growth”.

the alpenglow upgrade, is that sub-second finality? excellent. excellent. and the transactions, are those still under a penny? beautiful, great. and the throughput, is that institutional grade? perfect. we’ll have all three for the table.
Anyone interpreting a16z dropping “crypto” from its name as bearish is missing the plot entirely…
Crypto has a branding problem, not a technology problem.
The goal was always mass adoption, it’s never been getting the entire world to identify as crypto people…
The technology is bigger than the label.
Catch up or shut up.
