Anti Fund was founded upon two foundational axioms:

2. the best founders are “anti” because, by definition, their companies are highly disruptive to the status quo
Startups live and die on two levers: capital and attention. While capital is commodity, commanding attention is not.
Whether a company sells consumer products or is a foundational research lab, they all must compete on the ability to win mindshare and ultimately customers and revenues.
Venture capital is a power law business driven by iconoclasts who win.

Excited to announce that American Advanced Materials @aamhq has raised a $12.5M seed round to manufacture the building blocks for AI, energy, and defense. The round was led by @amityventures, with participation by @antifund, @humancapital, and others. @Bloomberg coverage in the comments.

My co-founder Diego Represas and I founded AAM because our most important strategic interests are growing exponentially but rely on advanced materials we no longer make. For many of them, it's been years or decades since we last made them and we now find ourselves depending on fragile and capacity-constrained supply chains. It's a widening demand vs. supply imbalance that needs a technology-first solution.
Project one is bringing back titanium sponge production, at scale. US demand is set to double over the next two years and there simply is no way that supply can meet demand. AAM is using a vertically-integrated approach to enable globally-competitive pricing and quality. That way, US and allied aerospace & defense can have a scalable, secure, and economic alternative for meeting their own growth goals.
The bottleneck for many advanced materials is not upstream mining. It's the midstream chemical and metallurgical processing that turns US- and allied-sourced minerals into high performance inputs for industry. That muscle has left the country after decades of atrophy. At AAM, the factory is the product by combining decades of process knowledge with modern engineering, AI, and robotics automation.

Whop has raised $200M in Series D funding at a $5.1B valuation, backed by @sequoia and @shopify.

Two brothers with a camera and a crazy amount of ambition can build businesses, compete on the biggest stages in the world, employ hundreds of people, invest in the future of this country and one day walk into Washington and sit across from the people helping lead it
That should inspire people not offend them
Washington doesn’t belong to commentators.
It doesn’t belong to celebrities.
It doesn’t belong to politicians.
It belongs to the American people
And whether people like me or hate me I’m going to keep showing up
Keep learning.
Keep building.
Keep investing in American companies.
Keep creating jobs.
Keep supporting American innovation.
