The quilter in me loves this redemption arc.
Gary Tyler, a quilt artist who spent decades on death row for a crime he didn’t commit, now has his first solo exhibit at the Grand Rapids Art Museum npr.org/2026/10/21/nx-s1-600…

To the @MiamiHerald journalists laid off this week: I’m so sorry and so pissed off for you.
If you’ve got a Miami story in your pocket that deserves to be told, I need freelancers at Miami New Times and I’d love to pay you to tell it. And if you just need some assignments to help keep you afloat in the coming weeks, my DMs are open. Let’s talk. [email protected]
It’s a great question, @IRE_NICAR members. Will I see you next Wednesday? 🙏🏽 Love, Journalism’s Favorite Auntie! ❤️

This is my very first story for @IRE_NICAR’s The Journal. Let’s call it my #AI origin story! #journalism
What if AI could help you spend less time digging through documents—and more time breaking stories?
From organizing thousands of files to summarizing public meetings and building interactive maps, AI is quickly becoming an essential tool for investigative journalists. The key is knowing how to use it ethically.
In the latest IRE Journal, IRE Training Director @benetwilson shares 10 AI tools every investigative journalist should have on their radar, including ChatGPT, Google Pinpoint, NotebookLM, Claude Code and more.
Which AI tool has been the biggest game changer for your reporting? bit.ly/3R409pU
