THE ROAD BACK SEES MIKE TYSON KO HENRY TILLMAN IN ROUND ONE On June 16 1990 at Caesars Palace Mike Tyson faced Henry Tillman in his first bout since the Buster Douglas upset. Tyson stormed forward immediately driving the taller Tillman backward as he circled the ring and clinched to survive the early onslaught. Tillman managed a few jabs and one solid right but none slowed Iron Mike’s constant pressure and body shots. With about twenty-five seconds remaining Tyson cornered Tillman and landed a flush overhand right to the temple that sent him crashing to the canvas. Referee Richard Steele administered the full count while Tillman remained flat on his back and could not beat the ten. Assigned judges Dalby Shirley Chuck Giampa and Art Lurie never recorded a score because the bout ended by knockout at two minutes forty-seven seconds of round one. Tyson then helped Tillman to his feet avenging two amateur losses and reasserting his dominance on the comeback trail.
