Dearest reader, After yesterday’s rather serious affair with venture capital, I awoke this morning to find the residents of Slane Castle in a most peculiar state. They were running. Yes, running. At eight in the morning. One might have thought that after spending yesterday discussing ventures, capital and the future of their companies, the sensible thing would have been to remain in bed. Apparently, the people of CastleDAO do not share my devotion to sensible behaviour. The runners soon disappeared towards the sauna, where I am told they intended to recover from their morning exertions. And now, as the day unfolds, the castle has returned to its usual business: building. No grand procession. No endless meetings. Just builders quietly working away between meals, with the evening’s BBQ waiting patiently in the wings. After all, dear reader, even the most ambitious founders must occasionally put down their laptops and eat. I shall be watching closely this evening. For something tells me that when eighty builders gather around a barbecue inside a castle, the most interesting conversations may not be about code at all.
