I came to America as international student athlete months after graduating high school not fit, took 1.5 years to be competitive again. Am grateful for the opportunity, I think taking developed professional athletes most in mid 20s+ is a disservice to what NCAA sports represents

My summer training rule: The first 2-3 weeks, every run will feel horrible. You’ll wonder how you can manage the heat. If you just get the time in, ignoring pace…after a few weeks you’ll wake up & magically feel better. Not perfect but that it’s not that bad most days.
