I'm all for the NAIA giving athletes a 5th year of eligibility, but I think there's one rule that needs to change along with it.
Here's what I would do to create more opportunities for younger players.
Curious what other NAIA athletes and coaches think. Agree or disagree?👇
Nobody is talking about this enough in the Protect College Sports Act.
ONE free 4-year transfer.
Want to transfer again? You could be sitting for an academic year unless you meet an exception.
Mix that with the D1/D2 5-year clock and roster movement could look VERY different.
The transfer portal might be about to change in a big way.

Reminder to all prospective college athletes: FILL OUT YOUR FAFSA ASAP!
studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-a…
D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO & even D1's all are going to want to know your SAI number.
Fill it out ASAP, have the number ready so you can discuss it with coaches when going over your offer

NAIA ATHLETES PLEASE READ THIS
You need 12 credit hours to be fulltime. Don't drop a class without letting your coaches know.
If you drop below 12 credit hours stop competing until you get it figured out.
There's a bunch of exceptions but if these apply to you: ASK SOMEONE.

On November 4, The Heart of America Athletic Conference office will vote YES on the @NAIA’s proposal for 5 seasons of competition within 10 semesters, without an age-based eligibility clock.
In today’s college athletics environment, we believe this is common-sense legislation that expands student-athlete opportunity and gives the NAIA a competitive advantage in recruiting.
Every member institution and conference has one vote. We’re proud to cast our vote in support.

I was watching a high school game with a coach from a P4 school. He was recruiting a great receiver. The QB threw a pick and the receiver didn’t even try to make a tackle. He jogged a few steps then stopped. The P4 coach said, “that’s all I need to see.” Don’t let a lack of effort get you taken off the board.

2000+ D2/D3/NAIA Freshman football careers are going to end in the next 3 months...because you aren't focused on where your feet are...
If you're not an All-American, All-Conference, Multi-year Starter...you're exactly where you should be.
Anecdotes aren't data points.
