🇨🇳 ALIPAY SHUT DOWN PEER: CLAIMS OF BUYING AND SELLING USDC VIA ALIPAY ARE FALSE
Peer, a P2P protocol on Base, announced on Oct. 27 that users could buy and sell USDC with CNY through Alipay. The next day, Alipay said it does not support crypto trading and called the claims “false and unauthorized.” Peer admits there is no official partnership; these are peer-to-peer transfers, and users may risk having their Alipay accounts restricted.
🚨 NASDAQ-LISTED COMPANY SAYS IT HASN’T BEEN ABLE TO WITHDRAW ITS OWN BITCOIN FOR 4 MONTHS
Datavault AI ($DVLT ) disclosed in an Oct 26 SEC filing that a June request to withdraw BTC from the Biconomy exchange is still incomplete, because the BTC from Scilex was only an off-chain entry on the exchange’s books. The company will restate 4 sets of financial statements, cut $92.2M in assets at year-end 2025, and is reassessing its ability to continue as a going concern. The stock fell 49.55% to $0.067 in a single session.
💥 BLOOMBERG PAID TO SEE TRUMP’S POSTS FASTER THAN YOU
According to Reuters (anonymous sources), Truth Social has sold faster access to the president’s posts to Bloomberg, Jump Trading and Susquehanna, for up to $100,000 a month. In stocks and crypto, a few milliseconds ahead of everyone else can be a huge edge. Speed of information is now something you can buy, and Democrats in Congress are raising concerns about conflicts of interest.
🚨 ALLIUM - DATA PARTNER OF VISA, STRIPE AND COINBASE - JUST GOT BREACHED
On Oct 25, Allium detected unauthorized access to some of its systems, notified affected customers, and brought in an independent cybersecurity firm to investigate. Core services are back online, though some features remain unavailable, and per The Defiant, customers are being asked to rotate all API keys. The full scope of the incident has not been disclosed.
🚨 THE FED HOLDS RATES STEADY AT 3.75% - 4.00%, BUT THE HIKING CYCLE MAY NOT BE OVER
The Fed paused after September’s 25-basis-point hike, even though U.S. inflation is at 3.7%, nearly double its 2% target.
👉 3 signals worth watching:
- The vote was 10–2. Lisa Cook and Beth Hammack wanted another 25-basis-point hike today.
- The Fed upgraded its view of the economy from a “solid” pace to a “strong” pace. The hotter the economy, the harder it is to cut rates.
- The Fed dropped the line saying its latest hike would bring inflation back to 2% sooner. Instead, it stressed it will “watch the data.” The door to more hikes is still open.
Markets called the hold correctly (over 90% expected it), but they still price in about a 78% chance of a December hike.
In short: the Fed has stopped hiking for now, but it hasn’t said “we’re done.” Higher rates could last longer, and the USD, gold, stocks, and crypto will all feel the impact.
Next meeting: Dec 8–9. Will the Fed hike or hold? 👇
🚨 COINBASE HAD A DATA LEAK, BUT THE FAULT ISN’T COINBASE’S
Today (Oct 28), SlowMist warned that contact info for 70,000+ users was exposed. Coinbase says the source was Amplitude, a third-party analytics vendor, that only a small subset of users was affected, that its own systems weren’t breached, and that funds remain safe. Still, leaked emails and phone numbers can fuel impersonation scams, so don’t click unknown links and never share your 2FA codes.
🚨 THE FED DROPS ITS INTEREST RATE DECISION, AND THE WHOLE MARKET IS WAITING
Current rate: 3.75% – 4.00%
Forecast: Hold steady
Announcement: 2:00 PM ET
🚨 PREDICT FUN GOT DRAINED: ~400,000 USDT GONE, FUNNELED STRAIGHT INTO TORNADO CASH
Yesterday (Oct 27), users of BNB Chain prediction market @predictdotfun reported unauthorized wallet drains.
What happened:
- On-chain investigators traced the funds through intermediary wallets → Relay → Ethereum → Tornado Cash
- @predictdotfun .fun confirmed about 400,000 USDT was lost from a small number of wallets
- Early suspicion: a third-party-hosted API documentation site was compromised. The site has been taken offline
The good: the platform pledged to fully reimburse users for direct losses and promised a detailed post-mortem.
The catch: a docs site shouldn’t be able to touch user funds. How the attacker got from there to wallets is still unexplained. Some investigators are also looking at a possible embedded-wallet vulnerability, but nothing is confirmed.
The lesson: the biggest risk isn’t only smart contracts, it’s the third-party services around them. Review your permissions and don’t keep too much in in-app wallets.
Waiting on the post-mortem for the real root cause.
🇺🇸 CLAUDE JUST GOT 40% OFF, BUT ONLY FOR THE US GOVERNMENT
Anthropic signed a new deal with the GSA, cutting prices by 40% for federal agencies and state, local, tribal and territorial governments, with no minimum spend required. Anthropic estimates it will save about $1 billion, and the news comes just a day after the company filed for its Nasdaq IPO (ticker: ANT).
🚀 ANTHROPIC FILED PUBLICLY FOR ITS IPO, AND IT COULD BECOME THE BIGGEST LISTING IN HISTORY
The company behind Claude will list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, aiming to match or beat SpaceX’s record $75 billion raise at an expected valuation of $1.5 – $1.75 trillion, down from the $2 trillion-plus floated earlier. First-half revenue hit $16.3 billion, but an $80.7 billion loss and massive infrastructure commitments will test how hungry the market still is for AI. Trading is expected before Thanksgiving.
Is this valuation fair, or too high? 👇
🚨 PASSPORT HAD A DATA LEAK: OVER 23,000 PHISHING EMAILS WERE SENT
Foundation says attackers exploited compromised Cloudflare API keys and old customer data that was never fully deleted to send fake emails, many containing the recipient’s real name and address, making them easy to believe. There is currently no evidence that the wallets or private keys were affected, but it’s still unclear how many people had their data exposed. Remember: never enter your seed phrase on a website or share it with anyone.
🔥BITCHAT - THE MESSAGING APP THAT NEEDS NO INTERNET - HIT #1 ON THE FRENCH APP STORE
After the Orange network outage on October 21 and a wave of protests with calls to install a backup app, Jack Dorsey’s app overtook every other social network in France. Bitchat sends messages over Bluetooth mesh with no account or SIM required, so when network infrastructure becomes unreliable, people turn to a tool nobody can switch off. Would you install a backup app like this? 👇
🇯🇵 BLACKROCK GOT ITS HANDS ON THE ON-CHAIN YEN
Today (Oct 27), BlackRock signed an MOU with SBI Holdings and Startale to explore connecting tokenized money market funds with JPYSC, Japan’s first trust bank-backed yen stablecoin.
It’s still an exploratory phase with no launch timeline, but the signal is clear: on-chain finance is moving from experiments to real infrastructure.
🚨 KEYSTONE GOT BREACHED - HERE’S WHAT HACKERS NOW KNOW ABOUT YOU
- Your name and contact info
- Your shipping address
- What you bought
- How much you paid
Keystone confirmed a third party accessed its official website. Detected Oct 20, confirmed Oct 23, disclosed Oct 24.
✅ Not affected (per Keystone): payment cards, bank details, recovery phrases, private keys, wallet passwords.
⚠️ The real risk is targeted scams. With your real order details, attackers can pose as Keystone offering “refunds,” “replacement devices” or “order support,” and it will look legit.
If you’ve ever bought a Keystone wallet:
- Don’t click links or reply to anyone claiming to be Keystone.
- Never enter your recovery phrase anywhere, ever.
- Keep your crypto holdings private, since your home address may be exposed.
🔐 Your hardware wallet protects your keys. It can’t protect the data the seller holds about you.
