If BHP are blaming hundreds of WA job losses on rising diesel costs maybe they could rethink their decision to delay moving to electric trucks.

GET THE FACTS: Two thirds of Australia’s gross debt was racked up by the Coalition. In just 9 years, the Coalition racked up $607.8 billion of gross debt, and doubled debt even before COVID.

On 13 September, an MSF bus carrying 10 humanitarian staff in Gaza City was damaged by an Israeli airstrike on a targeted vehicle just two metres away. One of our colleagues was injured in the strike. The bus was clearly identified as an MSF vehicle, with a large MSF sticker visible on its roof. Once again, Israeli forces have shown a blatant disregard for the safety of humanitarian and medical personnel. Nowhere is safe in Gaza. Civilians, healthcare workers and humanitarian staff must be protected. Clearly marked medical and humanitarian vehicles must be spared from attacks.

🚨 Gaza, Palestine: This morning, 11 people with injuries from explosions or shrapnel wounds arrived at our Al-Attar healthcare centre in Khan Younis, following an Israeli forces airstrike close to a nearby displacement camp. Of these, two people were transferred to Nasser hospital for specialised care.   Airstrikes from Israeli forces continue daily in Gaza. Each day Palestinians are killed or wounded. Between 6 and 9 September, Israeli forces issued 18 evacuation orders and 8 orders to shelter affecting humanitarian sites, and struck a building less than 70 metres from one of our clinics. Nowhere is safe.

We are appalled by reports of an Israeli airstrike within the Al-Aqsa Hospital compound on 29 August. Hospitals should be safe places for patients and healthcare workers.

I condemn in the strongest terms today’s actions by the Israeli authorities to unlawfully enter & remain on the @UNRWA Kalandia Training Centre in occupied East Jerusalem & carry out unauthorized works in those premises. I am greatly alarmed at this development, as it will deprive young people from the vocational education they were receiving. These actions against UNRWA premises are wholly unacceptable & inconsistent with Israel’s clear obligations under international law. I urge the Government of Israel to immediately cease the interference with UNRWA premises, vacate, return & restore all affected premises to the @UN without delay, and protect those premises from further interference or damage. un.org/sg/en/content/sg/stat…

This report is haunting even for someone who has documented the most horrific aspects of this genocide - which too many world leaders pretend not to see. I commend the Commission of Inquiry for its effort to bring about accountability and make the truth accessible.
The Independent Int'l Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory presents new report to the UN Human Rights Council. "The evidence shows that Palestinian children have been deliberately targeted & killed by the Israeli security forces." ohchr.org/sites/default/file…

#Israel’s suspension of multiple aid agencies from #Gaza is outrageous. The pattern of unlawful restrictions on humanitarian access & these arbitrary suspensions make an already intolerable situation worse for the people of Gaza. States must take urgent steps & insist that Israel allows aid to get into Gaza unhindered. ➡️ ohchr.org/en/press-releases/…

It breaks my heart to see the ongoing scale of human suffering in Gaza. While famine has been pushed back, needs are growing faster than aid can get in. We need more crossings, lifting of restrictions on critical items, removal of red tape, safe routes inside Gaza, sustained funding & unimpeded access.

I strongly condemn the unauthorized entry into the @UN Sheikh Jarrah compound held by @UNRWA in occupied East Jerusalem by Israeli authorities. This compound is inviolable & immune from any other form of interference. I urge Israel to immediately take all necessary steps to restore, preserve & uphold the inviolability of UNRWA premises & to refrain from taking any further action with regard to these premises.

More than a month after a ceasefire was announced and all living Israeli hostages were released, Israeli authorities are still committing genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip, by continuing to deliberately inflict conditions of life calculated to bring about their physical destruction, without signaling any change in their intent. amnestyusa.org/press-release…

On this International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People we reaffirm a simple truth: The Palestinian people have a right to dignity, justice & self-determination. Yet over the last 2 years, these rights have been violated beyond comprehension. I repeat my call for an end to the unlawful occupation of the Palestinian Territory. I also reiterate my call for irreversible progress towards a two-State solution, with Israel & Palestine living side by side in peace & security. un.org/sg/en/content/sg/stat…
