Your LLM calls tools correctly only 77% of the time.
Function calling gets sold as the holy grail of LLM integration.
⚠️The reality: accuracy sat near 54% last year and around 77% now with a top model. That means roughly a third of your tool calls still misfire. Build for the failures, not the demo.

When people first made text readable for the blind, they embossed printed letters. Obvious. It barely worked, fingertips couldn’t tell the shapes apart.
Then Louis Braille rethought it from scratch: six dots, built for touch, not sight. Same text, a representation designed for how it would actually be read.
Giving AI agents access to your internal developer portal is the embossed-letters version. The portal was built for human fingers: menus, templates, golden paths. An agent doesn’t click through any of it. It needs the platform underneath, in a form software can consume.
Based on what we learned at DevOpsCon New York, our latest article breaks down the three foundations of an agent-ready platform:
Capabilities the agent can invoke, like provisioning infrastructure or deploying apps.
Context about the systems those actions touch.
Controls that define what the agent is and isn’t allowed to do.
Read the full piece on how to implement this in your IDP.

🧩 More teams. More tools. More complexity. Is DevOps still scaling with you?
When tool sprawl and cognitive overload start slowing developers down, Platform Engineering might be the antidote. 💊
📖 In this free whitepaper, “Is Platform Engineering Right for You?”, discover:
🔹 When an internal developer platform makes sense
🔹 How to reduce cognitive load and improve developer experience
🔹 How to standardize workflows without losing team autonomy
🔹 Why Platform Engineering builds on DevOps — not replaces it

🤖 The AI agent that got stuck scaling the wrong database.
🚨 A Kubernetes cluster ran out of resources. An alert fired to Slack, triggering an AI agent to investigate the logs and fix the issue.
The problem? In about five cases out of ten, the agent misread the logs, scaled the wrong resource, and repeated the mistake every few minutes.⚠️
One real-world example of how AI agents can turn automation into runaway execution.

Freedom isn't free. It's designed.
Swipe to see why.
1 / Designed freedom: independent movement needs structure.
2 / The paradox: agents can generate work faster than humans can review every line.
3 / The roadmap: Write → Delegate → Orchestrate → Govern.
4 / Your next move: understand which system builds the software, and how to control it.
Can your agents execute real workflows, not just call isolated tools?
Our four-slide carousel is a starting point. The article explains the skills and decisions behind each stage.
The point isn't to reach maximum autonomy. It's to design the right degree of autonomy without losing responsibility.

AI engineering isn't just about writing better prompts.
It's about understanding how your responsibility changes as AI takes on more work.
Where are you on the four-stage journey?
LEVEL 0 · WRITE. You build software directly.
LEVEL 1 · DELEGATE. AI handles scoped tasks; you review.
LEVEL 2 · ORCHESTRATE. Multiple agents work; you coordinate.
LEVEL 3 · GOVERN. You design and improve the system itself.
Our AI Engineering cheat sheet makes this progression tangible and pairs each stage with selected sessions at AI Native Week Berlin.
Frank Kilcommins explores workflows AI agents can execute, while Michael Hablich examines how to evaluate agent tools and skills.
Can your agents execute real workflows, not just call isolated tools?
Find your level. Then level up.
