A few swings from the Indy Ball group this morning in FL🌴featuring the new cage cameras courtesy of @drivelinekyle.
Exit velocities over 95 mph moved them to the next bat. First to get through every bat was the winner. @_lybrookV_ took it home!

Our lab’s bat path analysis, on every swing you take at home.
In August, one of our remote hitters was clipping balls deep and hooking balls out front. His Blast swings, run through our lab’s bat path models, showed his path getting flat through the zone and working uphill too early. His coach changed his loading strategy. The next day, his bat stayed vertical through the zone about 60% longer.

Today's game: Bat Speed Wheel
The Cage Hub now features live @blastmotion bat tracking data, which allows us to score and track things like bat speed, launch angle, and smash factor in all of our games.
Here are some highlights from today's pro groups:
One month of MLB Draft League prep for Maddox Mihalakis with AZ Hitting Trainer Carson Evans and HP Trainer Nick Shiu. Training strength, movement efficiency, and high-intent swings which led to gains of four mph of bat speed and seven of max EV from May 28 to June 29.

Why⬆️EV?
Even the lowest-output qualified hitters in MLB this year (⬇️) peaked at 102+ mph.
Raising a hitter's ceiling brings the floor along with it & creates margin for error.
High outputs are a prerequisite at the highest levels & hitters should train accordingly.

Another example of a bat speed day using @TrajektSports.
This time we mixed a lefty heater and a sweeper and told the guys to treat every swing like a 2-0 count. The added wrinkle of mixing pitches continues to allow our hitters to make their training game like.
Today’s focus, can you get your A swing off and do damage when you don’t know what’s coming? Just another example of the many ways we use Trajekt at @DrivelineBB to develop hitters.
Some quick clips from myself and @_Chrisleone on how we use our Trajekt at our @DrivelineBB AZ facility, and why getting a lot of reps off it is the best use of your time this offseason. 🧵
First we talked about bat speed training, and how we use blocked sessions off MLB level pitches so hitters can develop the ability to swing faster in difficult environments and learn new moves with a high intent.

Ronnie said it best back in the day. But a well executed on-ramp doesn't just keep guys healthy, it can earn them more high intent days later in the offseason. More than the 1.5x a week I used to program. Here's how.
We looked at 1,000+ pitcher retests.
About 140 of them came in throwing 85, and only about 1 in every 5-6 was breaking 90 within a year.
Two things separated the ones who got there:
1️⃣ Well-rounded progress. Pitchers who improved in both the weight room and their mechanics gained about 4 mph, versus about 2 for those who only improved in one.
2️⃣ They brought up their weaknesses without giving back their strengths. Both groups improved their weaknesses about the same, but the ones who didn't reach 90 gave back about 1 mph of expected velo on the strength side.

Sprinting being a plyometric is a fairly accepted concept in the field, but what so many people still neglect is that sprints should be periodized in the same way plyos are.

26 Little League players, 100% compliant with pitch count rules all season.
Not one violation.
48% of their elbows came back abnormal on MRI.
Following the rules isn't the same as being safe. Pitch counts only cap a single day. They never see how much that arm threw in the weeks before.

Alec Josephson has spent his past few months training hand positioning at release. He gained velo and every pitch shape improved. Here’s how we did it ⬇️
The goal isn't less stress on your arm. It's more velo for the stress it costs.
