I’m a huge fan of the midterm results. I’m also very pro AI and pro data center. I read yesterday’s pushback on those points as a concern for how we build the future — and very much a result of how we’re doing it right now. All part of the discourse that needs to happen next.
New Xcode package format option (.aea). Apparently, these have already been used by software updates. Much faster to decompress.
What I hope happens next is that Dems don’t try to claw back the past, but actually work fully towards the future. And that the Republicans also reinvent themselves for the future. A future where the argument isn’t whether to govern for the people, but how.
My minimum criteria for voting for somebody: They have to want to govern for the people. Everything else comes after that. Didn’t use to have to say that part out loud.
This is bonkers.
We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math.
It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training.
We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
LLM was given weights explicitly as text in prompt and used code/forward passes (per authors' logs) to ablate Qwen looping direction, a known thinking-mode issue per model card. Primarily fixed repetition in that mode, not general 'natively' improving weights/math.

I try to be charitable most of the time, but seriously.. fuck this. Also, that finger looks so stretched out that it looks remarkably like a middle finger. Maybe that was intentional. Or maybe I’m projecting.
Just because a laptop screen can accept touch input doesn’t mean you’ll ignore that big old trackpad you still have. Your brain will figure out what is best for what for the way you do it and use the additional modality for the it makes sense to you. It’s additive.
My first international flight with Starlink! OMG OMG OMG. I may not sleep. I should sleep. I must sleep. But but but.
As I reflect on my last week connecting with old and new friends in tech and talk about what they’re doing as well as what’s happening in tech, one thought that keeps coming to mind is this: the future is less evenly distributed than it has been in a while. Buckle up, buttercup.
Oh hell yes!!! I hope Claude follows suite ASAP.
The more I think about how agents should store context for a user, the more I think there needs to be something under Markdown that really allows for multi-player coordination. Something like Automerge / Pretext that the Markdown an agent sees is a projection of.
You know you’re in SF when you’re in a cafe overhearing people talk about moats and the various tech demigod heroes they have that they want to be like while a bus rolls covered in an orange “region: earth” wrap. Even with all of its issues, I still love this place.

Amazing how quickly we went from "oh no LLMs are going to flood the Internet with insecure code" to "oh no LLMs have discovered the internet was already flooded with insecure code"
