At #UNTOC2026 , the EU reaffirmed its commitment to working with @UNODC, civil society and the private sector to combat #online scams and protect the rights and dignity of older persons, while building a safer digital space for all.

At #UNTOC2026, I called on all parties to support the EU-led Global Alliance to Counter Migrant Smuggling. Thanks to good cooperation with partners and key @UNODC support, the last two years have seen a substantial decrease in irregular arrivals to the EU.

Trafficking in human beings is evolving and so must our response. At #UNTOC2026, I highlighted new EU strategy on combating trafficking in human beings, focused on prevention, victim rights and dismantling trafficking networks. Traffickers must face justice.

At today’s #UNTOC2026 discussion on implementation of the Convention, the EU called for timely reviews, sustainable funding & a review mechanism capable of delivering on key element of UNODC’s mandate. Necessary response to global threat posed by organised crime.

Today’s CTBTO Working Group A meeting discusses budget, amidst EU call on all to pay their contributions in full and on time. CTBTO’s verification role must be uninterrupted. Sustainment of the IMS and universalisation of the Treaty remain EU priorities.
