Some momentos were captured yesterday during our Latino Student Union club monthly meeting 🌺🌸 🩴
We enjoyed snacks, worked on truck-or-treat decor, socialized, AND some got the CHANCLA 😂
We loved playing our new game ¿Cómo se Dice?

Lately, I’ve been soaked into a difficult personal situation that I’ve abandoned my love for books (amongst other things).
Yesterday, I attended a session where @PrimarilyMedia shared about NC book awards. Now, I have a list of books I wanna read 🙌🏽📚 @NCReadingAssoc
Fact!
Differentiation is essentially a staffing problem dressed up as a classroom strategy.
Instead of putting smaller groups of students with similar levels of academic readiness in different rooms with different teachers, we shove everyone into the same room and tell one teacher they can meet every student’s needs if they just plan carefully enough.
It’s a lie.
And every teacher who has taught a class with truly disparate levels of ability knows it.

Just got done listening to ep 112 from the boosting achievement podcast, about free voluntary reading! @DrCarolSalva and @emilyfranESL . today I took the very SIMPLE step of taking all my MLL students to the library! 90% left with a book of their choice and were EXCITED to read!
