The @fedimint Escrow Module has evolved since I shared the design.
The design has changed quite a bit through implementation, and discussions with people building around Bitcoin, specially @getchama_app @Colabonate @PlebeianMarket and #nostr devs

We found a bug in our Lightning gateway's LNv2 payment handling and are contacting public gateway operators.
User funds, federations, and ecash are not affected.
This is separate from the issue fixed in v0.12.1. Gateways on v0.11 are not affected.
We're also releasing v0.11.4 with gateway hardening we found along the way. v0.11 gateways are not affected by the bug above, so there's no rush: update at your convenience.
The bug came from our protection against paying the same invoice twice, which ran too late in the payment flow.
We continue to do our own AI-accelerated security research and appreciate external research findings at [email protected]

Just caught @joschisanbtc’s talk in BTC++ Berlin on @fedimint and am blown away. As someone who is ecash-agnostic I don’t think there’s another project in bitcoin that’s using as much cutting edge black magic tech in pursuit of their goals. Incredibly impressed.

We found a bug in our legacy Lightning integration and are contacting public gateway operators.
User funds, federations, and ecash are not affected.
Gateways using LDK Node or our newer LNv2 protocol are also not affected. We still recommend staying up to date.

If we haven’t reached out, please update to v0.12.1 ASAP, or shut down your Lightning gateway in the meantime if that’s not feasible.
Users of federations without an active Lightning gateway will still be able to make ecash and on-chain transactions.
