FPC ASKS U.S. SUPREME COURT TO END “ASSAULT WEAPON” BANS NATIONWIDE IN LANDMARK SECOND AMENDMENT CASE
FPC LEGAL UPDATE: We just filed our opening brief with the Supreme Court in our lawsuit challenging Cook County, IL's "assault weapon" ban. You can read it here: firearmspolicy.org/viramonte…
GM.
May your coffee and whiskey be strong, your candy bars be full-size, and your anti-gun governor’s nightmares be full of FPC lawsuits.
Happy Halloween. 🎃
October kept our legal team busy and the anti-gunners emotionally unstable.
Their tears exceeded our reporting capacity.
And November’s looking even more promising.
Viramontes and Cheeseman have a lot of activities planned at SCOTUS.
Leaving your gun bans intact isn’t one of them.
Judge Matey told New Jersey’s lawyers to try reading the Constitution instead of throwing tantrums.
They’ve since requested a larger audience for the tantrum at SCOTUS.
That gong’s about to hit, New Jersey.
Our response in Cheeseman is due at SCOTUS November 4.
We already beat your rifle ban once, and we’re coming back to defend that win.
GM.
New Jersey wants the power to put you in prison for owning a constitutionally protected rifle.
We beat that ban in the Third Circuit. Now the state wants SCOTUS to overturn our win.
Our response in Cheeseman is due November 4. Five days.

The government defendants in Viramontes may have had 42 briefs filed in support of their gun bans.
But remember, we had 43 filed supporting the destruction of those bans!
So now feels like the perfect time to, again, thank everyone who supported our case and the Second Amendment just a few short weeks ago.
If you want more info on who supported DESTROYING “assault weapon” bans nationwide, you can check out our press release here: firearmspolicy.org/fpc-thank…
This is why winning is a must.
We need to set a precedent that prevents this anti-rights cancer from spreading AND can help tear down what they’ve already built.
Don’t get complacent. Fight Forward.
FPC announced today that it filed a new federal Second Amendment lawsuit, Maines v. Bethel, challenging Pennsylvania’s unconstitutional ban on lawful firearm carry in most public places by adults under 21. firearmspolicy.org/fpc-sues-…
"Pennsylvania already lost in the Third Circuit when it tried to deny 18-to-20-year-olds their right to carry firearms, but the Commonwealth still insists on treating peaceable adults as second-class citizens," said FPC President Brandon Combs.
Forty-two briefs of mental gymnastics asking SCOTUS to say “shall not be infringed” doesn’t apply.
🤡 🌎
Nonetheless, our Viramontes reply is due mid-November. And we’ve got work to do.
You can keep up with all the work here: FPCLaw.org
The brief’s author couldn’t get people to agree on rewriting the Second Amendment, so now he wants SCOTUS to declare parts of it “extinct.”
Your rights don’t expire because some anti-gun lawyer is tired of losing the argument.
