A Roma therapy session for Manchester United and Michael Carrick. They’ll feel so much better now. Beating Roma 7-1 in 2007 as a player was huge for Carrick, who scored twice. Now this win over Roma as a coach under pressure. Proper United response, 2-0 down, 3-2 up. Great attitude, Mainoo outstanding, Lacey made a difference, Cunha deft and daft #MUFC #MUNROM
Manchester United used to have great left-backs Irwin, Evra, Heinze, Albiston, Houston, Dunne, Byrne and more. Now, with Dorgu as well as Shaw injured, they have a right-back out of position in every sense at left-back. Not Dalot’s fault, although some concentration would help. It’s partly Carrick’s - why not address the mess with Amass. It’s mainly Ineos’ fault - why not go all out for Lewis Hall in the summer? Rather than blowing the budget on three midfielders, only one of whom (Baleba) is deemed good enough to start. Great club badly run. #MUFC #MUNROM
Manchester Disunited. Mistakes on the pitch, mutiny off it, could turn ugly. So many elementary errors by United again, for Roma’s first, losing the ball in midfield again, ceding so much space, no expertise at left-back, no organisation again. And for Roma’s second, a mistake again, giving the ball away again, a handball in a desperate attempt at a block, clear pen.
No leadership from Bruno Fernandes again. Already booked. Sums up the club - no leadership. Fans protesting against the owners “sell United - and f**k off home”. What a mess. Until the Glazers go, and the debts are addressed, elite management put in all over, United will remain a mess. #MUFC
A community that refused to give up 🧡
At last, the documentary that tells the whole story of the Blackpool fans fight against the Oyston family. Told by some of us on behalf of ALL of us. It's a MUST watch for everyone, not just football fans. A community that refused to give up. 🧡🧡🍊🍊

Burst bubbles, Nuno dismissed; he's now left four clubs in five years. Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville in temporary charge. #WHUFC
If Thomas Tuchel picks on form, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall deserves to be in the England squad announced on Friday morning. Everton midfielder bossed Newcastle United last night. Brings a winning mindset and intensity - pressing and tackling. Brings a touch of finesse, 2 goals and one assist in 9 Premier League games, glides with the ball. Versatile, can play at 6, 8, 10. Wherever he plays, KDH brings the best out of those around him.
Superb discipline: 1 yellow, 3 fouls in 804 minutes. This time last year, KDH served a one-game ban after 5 YC in 6 PL games, two of which were ridiculous (for taking a quick free-kick v LFC and what most people saw as a fair tackle on Kyle Walker-Peters WHUFC). Those were poor decisions by officials but he’s clearly worked on avoiding others. He spoke to David Moyes and coaches at Finch Farm. KDH’s consistency and importance to Moyes is clear: of Everton’s 9 PL games this season, he has played 89, 90, 90, 90, 89, 90, 90, 86, 90.
Is 28 too late for an England debut? KDH is at his peak, few English midfielders playing better. Alex Scott (thigh) probably out unless he gets some minutes for Bournemouth v Sparta Prague or Ipswich. Tuchel will doubtless be mindful/respectful of their wishes. Tuchel has strength in midfield, Declan Rice returning to squad, Elliot Anderson totally embedded. Arguably, KDH competing with his club-mate James Garner (played v Czechs in October).
It may depend on how Tuchel views these two final Nations League group games: Croatia at Wembley, Spain in Madrid (Metropolitano). Opportunity to reel in Spain (3 pts clear) and finish top, so play runner-up in March quarters. Or experiment. Tuchel has few chances to try out new players like KDH. NB: bound to be some withdrawals. #ENG #EFC
Two yellows in 90 seconds for Jacob Ramsey. Second could have been a red on its own, ugly challenge on Harrison Armstrong. Everton deserved winners. Problems for Matthias Jaissle. #NEWEVE
Estevao breakthrough moment at Chelsea? Lisandro Martinez edging towards the exit moment at Manchester United? And Derbies – which are the best? I join the great @Tim_Vickery on the latest Futebol & Football pod at FC Camisa

Declan Rice has become Arsenal's most important player. Column @FourFourTwo #AFC fourfourtwo.com/person/playe…
That’s why they’re champions - and favourites to go back-to-back. Arsenal organised and unyielding, took their chance well, led well by Odegaard and defended exceptionally well, Konsa outstanding. Got lucky when ref/var didn’t react to Timber’s shirt-pull on Isak, clear pen not given. Game management, occasional time-wasting. Good changes by Arteta, drawing on #AFC strength in depth. Big win, back top. #LIVARS
Good save from Alisson, must have seen it late from Tzolis #LIVARS
Good luck to Dave Challinor at Sheffield Wednesday. Good appointment #SWFC
Sheffield Wednesday Football Club can confirm that an agreement was reached last night for Dave Challinor to become the club's new First-Team Manager.
The 51-year-old will be in attendance at today's fixture against Blackpool at Hillsborough.
The club looks forward to formally introducing Dave to supporters on Monday, when further details of the appointment will be announced.
Manchester United need to be freed of the yoke of the Glazers. That’s obvious. Been saying it since 2005. But how? It’s difficult to force regime change. A few United fans suggesting they’d welcome relegation as it would make the Glazers consider selling up. It might make them more likely to hold on as a PL club worth far more than EFL. A few fans suggesting a boycott of games - but why should loyal fans stop watching their team? And the club could simply get tourists in if a few games missed.
A boycott of the megastore and catering is obvious (and already done by some fans) but that would also hit staff and temporary workers. Chants and banners make a point to the world how reviled the absentee Glazers are. But probably won’t worry the distant Glazers. They can point to money invested in transfers (and spent badly) but it’s not their personal money. It’s money generated by the fans.
United have some very influential fans’ groups, fanzines, forums and pods. Would lobbying the Independent Football Regulator about whether the Glazers are “fit and proper owners” (in old parlance) have any effect? At the very least, there is a strong case for lobbying the IFR and Government about updating legislation to preclude debt-based takeovers (the IFR has an advisory role to Parliament).
It’s certainly a national embarrassment that the most high-profile representative of the national sport has such substantial debt and such deeply unpopular owners associated with it. Sadly, like a stubborn stain, the Glazers will take some shifting. #MUFC
Bit harsh that Mateus Fernandes doesn’t get an assist for that fabulous cross. Hit with pace, arrowing towards far-post, perfect for Jan Paul van Hecke to attack, saved, headed in #THFC
