Since Uganda enacted the Anti-Homosexuality Act in 2023, @hrapf_uganda ‘s September 2026 report records 1,064 cases of targeted violations affecting 1,462 individuals.
Beyond these documented figures are untold stories of persecution, fear and displacement. Many LGBTQ+ Ugandans have fled their homeland, leaving behind families, loved ones and everything they once called home in search of safety.
These are not just statistics. They represent human lives, dreams and futures disrupted.
Uganda’s lawmakers must confront the human consequences of this legislation. I continue to call for the Anti-Homosexuality Act to be nullified in its entirety.
