ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: BURKINA FASO 🇧🇫 BURKINA FASO marked #IDDay with AES biometric ID issuance, open days, panel discussions and an official celebration. @oniburkinafaso also honoured excellence in citizen identification through awards and certificates.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: THE GAMBIA 🇬🇲 THE GAMBIA marked #IDDay by convening a stakeholder meeting—creating space for dialogue, coordination and shared commitment around the future of inclusive and trusted identity. @MOIGambia

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: LESOTHO 🇱🇸 LESOTHO used #IDDay to spotlight the next phase of its registration expansion: 30 new workstations planned for health facilities and community council offices—bringing identity services closer to people in everyday community settings.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: GABON 🇬🇦 GABON brought #IDDay into the classroom through an awareness event for schoolchildren. An interactive video and hands-on workshops made identity engaging and accessible, helping young learners understand its importance from an early age. @ANINFGA

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: CHAD 🇹🇩 CHAD made #IDDay both inclusive and intergenerational. Refugees received ID cards at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while schoolchildren and university students joined a discussion and debate at the Maison des Entrepreneurs de Moursal.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: NAMIBIA 🇳🇦 NAMIBIA placed young people at the heart of #IDDay. Its official programme combined ID registration for school learners with discussions on identity—turning continued e-ID awareness into practical action for the next generation. @MHAINamibia

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: GUINEA-BISSAU 🇬🇼 GUINEA-BISSAU took #IDDay services directly to places people relied on. Registration campaigns at civil registry offices and health centres were paired with ID card issuance—bringing legal identity closer to communities.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC 🇨🇫 CAR placed vulnerable children at the heart of #IDDay. Alongside a ministerial address, orphaned children received birth certificates and school supplies—pairing legal identity with support for education and opportunity.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: UGANDA 🇺🇬 UGANDA placed identity at the centre of public conversation through the multi-day My Identity Symposium and Expo. Led by @NIRA_Ug, the #IDDay programme created a vibrant space for learning, dialogue and collaboration.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: SÃO TOMÉ AND PRÍNCIPE 🇸🇹 SÃO TOMÉ AND PRÍNCIPE marked #IDDay through action: biometric training, school outreach, server procurement and kit delivery. It also signed a cooperation protocol to operationalize its National Digital Identity Programme.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: CAMEROON 🇨🇲 CAMEROON marked #IDDay with a dynamic programme that engaged both minds and communities. A fitness walk and identity knowledge contest built momentum ahead of a conference and Identity Fair on September 16.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: BENIN 🇧🇯 BENIN combined professional capacity-building with public action for #IDDay. It harmonized practices, delivered special enrolment and FID issuance in Agonvè, and hosted a conference, panel discussion and awareness caravan in Parakou.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: GUINEA 🇬🇳 GUINEA brought creativity and practical guidance together for #IDDay. Artistic performances and lively skits engaged audiences, while a dedicated panel explained the processes for obtaining identity documents in the country.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: MADAGASCAR 🇲🇬 MADAGASCAR marked #IDDay with a high-level conference, inaugurated a new biometric enrolment command centre and launched the programme’s second phase. A youth carnival and awareness campaign also brought young people into the celebration.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: TANZANIA 🇹🇿 TANZANIA marked #IDDay nationwide with mass ID card distribution, prisoner registration, media outreach and stakeholder meetings. @NIDA_Tanzania also launched its WhatsApp channel & brought the campaign together through a national celebration.

ID DAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS: GHANA 🇬🇭 GHANA marked #IDDay through weeks of public engagement—from TV, media and faith-community outreach to an ID Day float and mass registration exercise at the University of Ghana, followed by inter-agency games.
