Alzheimer’s science and development are finally catching up to the disease. But right now, the breakthroughs are moving faster than the system built to deliver them, which means a lot of patients aren’t seeing the benefits yet. Fixing that is the next big frontier in Alzheimer’s.

In July, I requested UT’s contracts with OpenAI and Anthropic. I received them two weeks ago today, after an Office of the Attorney General ruling. Today it’s our @thedailytexan cover story: thedailytexan.com/2026/10/29…

This is a painful post to share. Today we’re announcing that we’re shutting down @heyollieai on November 6. I’m really proud of what we accomplished. We built an incredible personal assistant with a small team, and learned a ton. I’m grateful to our amazing team, our users, our investors, and everyone who supported us on this journey. We got close, but ultimately couldn't keep up. With Muse, Instinct, and others entering the space, it became harder to stand out, grow, and raise the capital we needed to succeed. I’ll share more lessons and thoughts in the coming weeks as the emotions become less raw.

News Media Alliance's, @newsaliance, brief for plaintiffs says copying news to build competing products isn't fair use: "Common sense tells us this is not fair. And so does copyright law." They go heavy on commerciality and derivative work competition. courtlistener.com/docket/698…

The future of #ArtificialIntelligence is not pre-determined. As a technology developed by human beings, its future depends on the choices we make. We therefore have the responsibility to guide, change and, when necessary, reject its applications. A reliable system that serves the human person is of greater value than one that is exceptionally powerful but whose consequences cannot be adequately foreseen or controlled.

I wrote this on Sept 11 & using that lens to think about how much we had to change. Our reckoning is now here on cybersecurity. He's my take & what we need to start. More importantly, I want to hear from you and what you think

if the largest exchange in crypto can lose more than $6 billion from a single employee's laptop, we're a clown car of an industry and should honestly take the ball and go home, surely there has to be something more complex than this at play, otherwise wtf are we doing here?

The ranking members of the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees have written a letter to President Trump asking whether he has been soliciting advice from Grok in order to help carry out his official duties as President of the United States. They also demanded that he preserve any prompts sent to Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity, as well as outputs in response to those prompts, that were 'submitted to AI chatbots in carrying out your constitutional, statutory, or other official or ceremonial duties.' The letter was provided by Politico.

Did you know there’s a pink tax in youth sports? The Women’s Sports Foundation found that median annual sports spending is $500 for girls vs. $400 for boys. Meaning it's 25% more expensive for girls to play sports. Even worse: Girls from lower-income households are more than twice as likely to say high costs keep them from playing sports. Girls shouldn’t have to pay more for the chance to play.

Team is working on this but it's not rolling out just yet, sorry for any confusion. Plan is to bring together best of both Chat / Work capabilities together at some point this year, but we're going to proceed carefully here and take our time. We'll have more to share soon.
ChatGPT is unifying Chat and Work I wonder how that changes usage limits

ā€œOnce discovery gets cheap, the hard part is clinical trials and patient dataā€ Couldn’t agree more, and that’s where the bottleneck is about to be. We’re about to see an explosion of novel drug ideas, but without understanding patient biology and how to direct these drugs to the right patient subsets, we won’t materially increase the likelihood of success of clinical trials. That’s why @ChronicleBioAI is building the AI data platform to match the right drugs to the right people based on their observed biology, for every chronic illness.
fvcking amazing anthropic bought mithril medicine, a biotech run by one person the pattern behind it all: - apr: anthropic buys a <10 person ai bio team for ~$400m - jun: anthropic says it will run its own drug programs - oct: openai buys orchestra bio - oct: anthropic buys a biotech of one what this means: - the labs are buying how a team works, not a pipeline - they're becoming drug developers - once discovery gets cheap, the hard part is clinical trials and patient data - that's where the next big startups get built bio/acc
