Here are my takeaways on @intothecalderon from last night’s poor showing against Bayern.
Robin Le Normand was the difference maker, but ultimately Atleti just weren’t effective in attack.

The result will be what it is but the lack of cojones Atleti are demonstrating tonight is the most concerning aspect of it.
Always just a matter of time with Le Normand. The worst defender at the club by some distance, Simeone cannot play him on this stage and it is irresponsible to do so.
Atleti sitting a bit too deep, understand adopting a more direct style against Bayern but they're starting to turn up the pressure. This is a lengthier period of defending than you'd like.
Have to find Sørloth's head and fight like hell for every ball he knocks down.
That right there is exactly what I need Sørloth to do: bring down the long ball, drag the CB out and open up space for Julián/Giuliano/Baena.

Simeone has been “warning” about this in recent press conferences: he wants Sørloth back in the dynamic, he has qualities no other Atleti forward has. He’s betting big on him against Bayern and their strong CBs (Tah, Upamecano).

Atlético Madrid haven’t lost at home to a German team in 16 games (W12, D4). Their last defeat at home was to Dortmund in 1996/97. #ATMFCB

Sports media in Spain will have you believe a defining trait of your life is supporting Real Madrid! Actually cannot believe this is still up!!!!
⚽️ Jesús de Miguel, el fanático del Madrid que decidió quedarse en Tenerife. El delantero fallecido este lunes era padre de una niña de año y medio. Se labró la carrera en las categorías inferiores del fútbol español a base de goles.

Koke back to face Bayern but Johnny is still out and might not even be fit to face Barça, according to Marca.
The thing with his injuries is starting to get ridiculous…
What, no print-outs from José today?
