As we honour Jamaica's seven National Heroes, we also recognise the everyday heroes in our homes, workplaces and communities whose quiet service keeps this country moving.

The number of Jamaicans holding ownership stakes in companies listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) has nearly tripled over the past 10 years.
According to JSE’s Chief Executive Officer, Livingstone Morrison, at the end of 2015, the Jamaica Central Securities Depository at the Exchange held just under 150,000 accounts.
Today, that depository holds 427,000.
This growth, Mr. Morrison says, reflects the continued interest of persons to build wealth not only for themselves but also for future generations

At the listing ceremony of Quantas Advantage Inc., Dario Dixon, Corporate Manager of JMMB Capital Markets, highlighted what contributed to the offer’s success, “the role of innovation in modern capital raising, accessible, efficient, and inclusive.”
The Quantas Advantage offer was oversubscribed by approximately 60%.
At yesterday’s listing of Quantas Advantage Inc., the company’s Director and Co-Founder, Jacqueline Sharp, spoke to the work behind the milestone.
“A listing ceremony is a public moment, but the work required to get here is often quiet, detailed, and very demanding. It really takes a lot of grit to bring this dream to reality.”
Yesterday, at the listing ceremony of Quantas Advantage Inc., our CEO highlighted the increasing number of Jamaicans choosing to build wealth through the market.
Each new listing expands that circle, giving more Jamaicans a direct stake in the companies shaping this economy.
Quantas Advantage now takes its place in that story.
Every share purchased in this offer represents a vote of confidence. Investors strongly believe in this company's vision and the team driving it forward.
A listing is a beginning, and we have every confidence Quantas Advantage will honour the trust its investors have shown.
Welcome to the Main Market!
Thousands of small and medium companies sit at the base of Jamaica’s business pyramid. Their usual limit is access to capital. The harder part, as the Honourable Fayval Williams, Minister of Finance and the Public Service, noted at the launch, is matching those companies with the investors willing to back them.
A public market does that work in the open. A company’s products and ideas go in front of investors who can weigh them and decide for themselves.
For companies this size, the Micro Market is the avenue to those investors.
Terise Kettle recognises the value the Micro Market offers. From the earliest stage, a micro business learns what it takes to run a public company, from governance to the responsibilities of answering to shareholders.
A company that develops in this way reaches the JSE’s Main Market fully prepared. By then, its readiness has been many years in the making.
The JSE Sandbox also adds an extra dimension to this ecosystem by helping to build readiness before a company ever lists. It provides a simulated environment where a business can practice the demands of listing in a low-risk setting.

Minister Hill Says JSE Micro Market Strengthens Jamaica's Financial Architecture

Such a delight to witness the enthusiasm and joy from our MSME, capital markets, government and regulatory partners yesterday at the launch of the Micro Market.
The room left no doubt about how much this means for small businesses in Jamaica.
We look forward to welcoming those ready to list, and to nurturing many more businesses to listing through our sandbox.
Speaking at the launch of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Micro Market, Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Honourable Fayval Williams, said the platform was created to address a longstanding challenge faced by many enterprises.
The Minister explained that the Micro Market expands Jamaica’s investment landscape by providing a structured, transparent and regulated platform for equity investment, while offering significant incentives to encourage participation.
Companies that list on the market will benefit from a full income tax holiday for the first five years after listing, followed by a 50 per cent income tax concession from years six to ten.

Minister Hill Welcomes Launch of JSE Micro Market to Expand MSME Access to Capital

Most enterprises in Jamaica start small, in a single room, centred around an idea worth supporting. For a business at that stage, our market has always felt distant. Today, that changes.
This morning, we launched the JSE Micro Market, designed for businesses at the very beginning of their growth.
Ramon Small-Ferguson, President of the Jamaica Securities Dealers’ Association, at the launch of the Government of Jamaica Bond Platform, reaffirms the dealer community’s support for the exchange. He calls it a maturing market, and a win for Jamaica.
We sit at the centre of how capital moves through Jamaica’s formal economy. Listing Government of Jamaica securities is part of our work to deepen that market, work we have carried for decades.
The same commitment shapes what we develop next.
