Our host was a Bedouin guide whose family has known this desert for generations. His 17-year-old son worked beside him, learning what his father learned from his own. As the sun dropped over Ramon Crater, they built a fire, I kneaded dough with my hands, they began to cook. They showed me how to bake bread right in the sand, coals on top, and it was truly the best I’ve ever eaten. No, you don’t taste the sand. Bedouin secret. We slept under more stars than I knew existed. This land holds so many stories, ancient and new, told by so many people: Bedouin, Jewish, Arab, Druze, Christian and travelers from everywhere, all sharing the same sky and the same fire. Out here, none of it feels like a headline. It feels like a table with room for everyone. There are so many opinions on this place, but how many have traveled to see it with their own eyes? Slowing down was the whole lesson. One I hope to carry with me well beyond this trip.

DUNE or Dead Sea? Epic day hiking up and repelling down salt caves in Israel. Truly one of the most incredible and demanding days of filming yet. This season of UNBOUND is about to blow all the others away! Although low key all the original episodes are about to have a big facelift! Re edited and lots more footage added 😎 They will be dropping in the next couple of weeks, and this season top of the year!

Ancient stones. And a prayer for a better future. My fifth visit to the Western Wall, and it still stops me in my tracks. A surviving retaining wall of the Second Temple complex, carrying more than 2,000 years of history, and a Jewish connection to Jerusalem that reaches back even further. Jerusalem is sacred to Jews, Christians and Muslims. That should inspire respect for one another. Religious or not, there’s something here I wish everyone could experience. And getting to see it from this perspective was a privilege I don’t take lightly. Before we let a headline or a comment section teach us to hate an entire people, let’s learn their history. Listen to their stories. And, if we have the opportunity, visit and meet them. You can care deeply about Israelis and Palestinians. You can stand against antisemitism and stand for Palestinian dignity and safety. None of those things should be in conflict. Most of what I prayed for will stay between me and God. But I’ll share this: I prayed for peace for Israelis and Palestinians, for Jews around the world, and for everyone living with fear. May we all do more than pray for it. May we help make it possible.

Nashville lately

A flight to Israel was almost hijacked a few days ago…and I’m about to board a flight to Israel. But I’m not afraid. In fact, I’m filled with hope. Why? An Indian captain. Israeli passengers. Emirati crew. Saudi first responders. Different nationalities. Different religions. Different backgrounds. One man chose extremism and hatred. Everyone else chose humanity. And everyone on that flight lived because of that. And I think that’s an important thing to remember today, on October 7th. We remember the people we lost. We remember the hostages. We remember what hatred and extremism are capable of. But we should also remember what courage is capable of. Don’t let hate divide us. 💙

What a blessing to be tired because I’m working. Truly this is how I feel. I could complain that I had a 6am flight yesterday, to land in Baltimore, drive 2 1/2 hours to speak at a college, drive 2 1/2 hours back that night, sleep for 2 hours and be back at the airport to catch another 6am flight to connect to a 12 hour flight overseas to film…OR I can perk up and thank god for the opportunities and the strength to push through and enjoy the hell out of days like these. I choose the latter. Also pretty pumped to sleep on that 12 hour flight coming up 🙃

Rain plan turned into one of my favorite UNBOUND episodes🐷 When the weather didn’t cooperate, @NathantheCL and I ended up at a pig sanctuary with 90+ rescued pigs. I had no idea pigs were this friendly… or that “pig tipping” was apparently a thing 😂 Not a bad way to spend a rainy day. Check out the full episode on my YouTube channel — link in bio!

Still thinking about this one 🇲🇽 My first solo show as a co-headliner, getting to play so much of the new music live for the first time, and a crowd that brought the energy from start to finish. A lot went into getting to this stage, which made finally stepping out there and doing the damn thing that much sweeter. Puerto Vallarta, thanks for showing up for me. Can’t wait to do more of this🤟🏻❤️

What is a Creator anyway? I used to only refer to myself as an Actor or a Singer. Sometimes I’d say Artist or Musician. As I started developing projects and gathering writers and directors I occasionally tacked on Producer. I guess I could add in Financier for the projects that needed come cash to get made. Then when there wasn’t much cash, I tried my hand at writing. When there wasn’t a budget for a good director, heck I’ll figure that out too - I have been on sets for 20 years at this point, how hard could it be? Hard, it turns out. But I’ve done it, and each time, I got a little better. So a Creator is really born out of necessity. It’s someone who has a vision, and doesn’t necessarily know exactly how to bring it to life, but they figure it out. They surround themselves with people better and more experienced than themselves whenever possible, and when not, they wear as many hats as it takes. I used to scoff at the term Creator, until I became one. Out of necessity. And grit. And passion. Now that term is one of the most complimentary things you could call me. For this project FOR LOVE, I was lucky to be inspired by the writing and directing of @JoshuaShultz, the acting from @larsenthompson and the volunteered time and talent from dozens of others. Puerto Vallarta was a trip I won’t forget anytime soon. More than anything, I’m grateful for every single person who showed up, sang along, and supported me that night. What an honor to be part of the Maccabi Games. Getting to speak to so many incredible athletes from around the world, share a little of my story, and hopefully leave them with some inspiration was really special. Seeing everyone come together to compete, celebrate, and support one another was pretty inspiring for me too. And getting to play some of my new music for everyone made the night even better.
