Today, I'm humbled by the caliber of speakers joining us at @beyondafricaorg this weekend. Over 70% are flying into Austin for this vision.

As someone building in the investment space, you have no idea how different investment is from payments. It’s day and night. Payment is just a tiny piece of investments. There is onboarding, risk warnings, asset classification, custody, compliance based on jurisdiction, investor type, source of funds.

My weekly summary says I had 52 meetings this week. Thats an average of 10 a day, excluding the weekend. I think it’s about 40 because of times I blocked off my calendar. Add the random slack huddles and unplanned calls and we are probably at 60. Looking forward to the week ahead

"What's your hit rate?" is the wrong question for an angel.
Venture follows a power law. Most bets return little or nothing. A few return enough to cover every zero.
$1,000 into each of 50 companies = $50k.
One 100x turns $1,000 into $100k. Portfolio doubled, even if the other 49 go to zero.
One 1000x = $1m.
Now sell that winner early at 10x: $10k back on $50k. You could easily still be down.
Optimise for the size of your winners, not the count.
