Sixty.
Sixty people actually went out of their way, opened their wallet, and bought the project. Sixty. That’s not a fanbase — that’s a group chat that forgot to cancel the pre-order.
Meanwhile Jay Hoebuck out here arguing that “sales is king in hip-hop over talent.” Cool story. So by his own metric, Drake just got dethroned by the barista who bought the vinyl for the aesthetic.

If sales really is the crown, then right now the king of hip-hop is whoever sold the 61st copy… because Drake couldn’t even clear that bar.

According to Mouse Jones, Jay-Z has gotten so comfortable and protected that his interviews come off soft. He brought up Frazier Tharpe's GQ interview with Jay and said the questions Frazier asked were soft. His argument is that Jay doesn't really let himself be challenged, so nobody asks the hard questions about his politics or being a billionaire. 🎙️
Charlamagne said nah. He argued Jay-Z will engage, but it depends on who's sitting across from him. If you walk in treating him like he's untouchable, that's the interviewer's failure, not Jay's. Whoever holds the platform sets the tone and has to ask the questions.
Then it got heated. Mouse brought up Barclays and gentrification, saying Jay-Z became the face of it by letting himself be on the billboards for a project that changed Brooklyn and pushed out longtime residents.
Charlamagne called that take lazy. He says Jay held a tiny piece of that project, and the real power and responsibility sat with government figures like Bloomberg and the developers working behind the scenes.
