🍒 Had a great chinwag with @gregm_sports & @jhillmanjourno1 about all things #AFCB. And make sure you’re following @CherriesChatPod and @theafcbfanpage if you’re not already!
Delighted to share that our interview with @kristemple is now streaming on all platforms! We chatted with Kris about *that* goal, his relationship with Willo & Eddie Howe, why he no longer commentates on the club & much much more! Link below! ⬇️ #AFCB
🎙️ Ready to go on commentary on @skysports+ for @Official_BRFC v league leaders @SalfordCityFC.
(Also featuring my new commentary app that I’ve built! 🤓)
🍒 I don’t know what’s gone on here with the whole process, but the club’s first ever home game in Europe going to general sale? #afcb 🤔
We are now on general sale for tomorrow night.
Get your tickets for our first-ever UEFA Europa League home game: tickets.afcb.co.uk/en-GB/cat…
🍒 The sponsorship cash required to take on a @premierleague front-of-shirt sponsorship at #AFCB clearly having a knock-on effect elsewhere. @Vitality_UK pulling out of Blast & international cricket headline sponsorship.
The ECB is seeking a new title sponsor for the Blast after Vitality chose not to continue telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2026…
🤦🏻♂️ This is undoubtedly the number one most likely ****-up when it comes to anthems, so this is extremely shoddy from the Asian Games. Feel for the announcer having to make the apology, as it definitely won’t have been their error 🤦🏻♂️

🍒 Smithy. #afcb

“This will be a pilgrimage as Bournemouth is a place that was very special to Carol and myself."
Good luck to @HuntyCaller, Amy Hunt and her partner Gareth Jones, who will be walking 125 miles this September to raise funds for the Hunt Family Fund.

🏏 As a former state school 1st XI captain myself, it’s great to be announcing @MCCOfficial v MCC State Schools XI at @HomeOfCricket today. A memorable day for these young cricketers & their families, and part of the great work of @_MCCFoundation in promoting state school sport.
🎙️ Enjoyed my first live @SkySports+ @SkyFootball EFL commentary of the season last night - @SalfordCityFC v @NewportCounty - which featured a goal from 70 (seventy!) yards, and a 90th-minute winner. Some highlights below:

👀 I think we have an early contender for worst shirt numbers of the season…
Step forward, the @OfficialShots third kit.
Absolutely ridiculous.
Remembering that the single purpose of shirt numbers is to be read, not a fashion statement.
🐬 Shoutout too tonight to Shaquille Gwengwe, who scored 47 goals for @PooleTownFC last season.
He’s opened his debut EFL season for with 4 goals in 3 games (from just 6 shots too!) for @NewportCounty.
Looking forward to commentating on him for @SkySports+ on Tuesday night!
🍒 59% possession for #AFCB today, which reminded me of an interesting stat from the below Substack this week:
AFCB won only 1 of 13 games last season when their possession was 55% or higher.

🍒⚽️ #AFCB reflections:
• Missed opportunities the difference ❌
• Standby for more bids that AFCB *still* won’t be accepting for Scott 🔥
• Flashes from Kluivert but not impacting under Rose yet 🇳🇱
• Rodriguez looked miles off it; corner for equaliser down to him 🤦🏻♂️

🍒⚽️ #AFCB reflections:
• Sickener, several positives, poor defending for goals
• Thought Marco left the first subs 10 mins too long, City had wrestled a grip
• A missed chance to pick up bonus point/s at City while in transition too
• Tav my pick. Superb assist Eva.
🍒 What a top start for @AlConnell83 & the #AFCB lads in PL2. Superb way to kick off a big weekend.
Wishing all connected to @afcbournemouth a memorable season. Hope to get down soon.
And fair play @jimfrevola for fronting up to a few issues this week. Thought he spoke well.
📻 I had almost 23 great years in BBC Local Radio at @solentsport. As Tony says, the seemingly clueless top brass pushing Local Radio towards oblivion seem to be overlooking that one of very few (if not, the only) things that bring a lot of young people to BBC LR is local sport.
🍒 Late to the party here, but another total monstrosity from @afcbournemouth.
‘Vitality blob-gate’ well documented, but absolutely criminal taking the official club badge off to try & ease in a silent rebrand.
An absolute nightmare for the club this pre-season. #afcb.
Shoutout to Isle of Wight ref James Linington on a great career. Seen plenty of him down the years at #AFCB, #SaintsFC & #Pompey. Amazing to have done 325 games in the Champ, but never one in the Prem - particularly in the current era of fast-tracking everyone/everything!
