Our three-part newsblast covers the key takeaways. In Part One, we highlight the promising portions of the dialogue, and what needs to happen to put those statements into action: mailchi.mp/wakeupcallnj/the-…

My kid's state test scores just arrived :) To clarify, I wasn't blaming the district. This is a state-level issue. Districts & educators want the test results back by June to help them plan summer programming and next year's schedule. @ChadAldeman

It’s October 29th. As the parent of a NJ middle school student, I still don’t have his state test scores back from last April. Not sure if his current math and ELA teachers have seen the data. However, my older son took the SAT in the spring and got the results in 13 days.

Agree, although I thought the New Yorker was renowned for its fact-checking, which is lacking in this piece. (PS 307 is underfunded?)
Agree or disagree, you can tell that the writer is searching/grappling with the issues. That's what we need more of. Does the D.S.A. Have a Vision for Public Schools in New York? | The New Yorker newyorker.com/culture/progre…

Today marks the solemn anniversary of a horrific act of terror that led to the deaths of at least 1,200 Israelis and the brutal captivity of an additional 251 victims.

October 7, 2023 was the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. It is one that we must always remember.

From my home state of New Jersey, I think of Edan Alexander, and his family, as he was held captive for 584 days before being reunited with them. I think of Laor Abramov and the 48 other Americans who were killed by Hamas terrorists.

Together, we remember the lives lost, the families torn apart, the communities devastated. We recommit to never let it happen again.

My heart is with every New Jerseyan still grieving the horrific October 7th terrorist attacks. Three years ago, Hamas murdered 1,200 innocent people and took 251 hostages, including New Jersey's Edan Alexander. Even as time passes, the pain endures. People across our state are still grappling with the violence of that day and the years that followed. New Jerseyans stand together in mourning the lives lost, rejecting antisemitism and all other forms of hate, and continuing our work to make sure every community can live and worship in peace.
