Some dense fog will form tonight, particularly across parts of England and Wales 👀🌫️

Rain will edge across parts of Northern Ireland and western Scotland this evening🌧️
Dry elsewhere, with some mist and fog patches returning ☁️
Polar vortex breakdown?
High pressure will remain dominant keeping things largely dry, which is not good news for those areas still in a severe drought.
The sudden stratospheric warming (SSW) expected to start next week may also lead to some dry weather deeper into November and the start of December.
And there's the fog to watch out for as well.

But early provisional Met Office statistics show that October has seen:
- Above average UK temperatures
- Above average UK rainfall
- Above average UK sunshine
There is much regional variation in these figures, and we’ll explain all on Monday

The weekend starts on a foggy note for many, although sunshine should break through as the day goes on. Halloween night will be wet in the northwest, but elsewhere it's largely dry.
