Will Los Angeles home values finish the year below $1.115M? That would take another ~2.2% decline from Parcl’s latest LA metro benchmark of ~$1.14M It’s one of the December 31 outcomes in @Polymarket's quarterly LA housing market, which uses Parcl Labs data for settlement.

Some of the competition for tenants never shows up as a rent cut @ParclLabs compared single-family rental listings across 139 US ZIP codes. In its October 20 snapshot, 31% of listings in communities built for rent advertised an incentive, compared with 6% in established neighborhoods For 19% of those build-to-rent listings, the main offer was a move-in perk, such as a reduced deposit, waived fee or gift card A free month lowers the rent paid over the lease. A smaller deposit lowers the cash needed at move-in, while leaving the rent bill unchanged.

Who’s buying a home in the city the world visits? Nearly half of the homebuyers relocating into the Las Vegas metro came from California, according to @ParclLabs latest 12-month estimates, as of September 2026 If you’re researching housing demand in Vegas, California is a good place to look, too.

Before you open a housing trade, decide what would make you close it On Parcl V4, you can add take-profit and stop-loss orders when placing your trade: • Take profit: an exit trigger for a move in your favour. • Stop loss: an exit trigger for a move against you. These exits become active after your opening order fills. They trigger from the housing index, which updates daily The trigger price isn’t a guaranteed exit price. Fills depend on available buyers or sellers within the order’s allowed price range

Being up on the year doesn’t tell you how easy it is to sell today In Indianapolis, Parcl’s home-price index is roughly 4% above a year ago, but 3.6% below its July peak. Around 56% of active listings have cut their asking price The Motivated Seller Index tracks those adjustments: how many sellers are cutting, by how much, and how quickly they cut again.
9 of the top 10 most motivated to sell major housing markets in the United States are officially in fire sale territory. The motivated seller index is a score between 0 and 10. It reviews every home seller in the market, are they price cutting, how big are they price cutting, and how fast are they price cutting. A 10 is the highest score. Today, all of the following major markets are above the 7.5 threshold for fire sale: Kingsport, TN: 7.94 Youngstown, OH: 7.9 Indianapolis, IN: 7.88 Dayton, OH: 7.73 Austin, TX: 7.63 Asheville, NC: 7.59 Denver, CO: 7.58 Flint, MI: 7.51 Eugene, OR: 7.5

On @Polymarket, DC’s year-end housing bets lean lower. Some owners are trying to rent out homes they recently put up for sale. On Polymarket’s quarterly market for the Washington metro, the chance of the home-value benchmark ending the year below $503K currently sits at ~72%. Parcl Labs shows what some owners are doing in the same metro: ~10.3% of active single-family rentals had been listed for sale in the 90 days before being offered for rent. That share was around 7% in August.

The Fed meets this week. Here’s where US housing stands going in. Parcl’s national home-price index fell ~1.01% over the past 30 days, including ≈0.15% over the past week. Sellers have cut the asking price on ~44.8% of active US listings. In @ParclLabs closed-sales data, homes sold an average of ~2.0% below their final asking price over the past 30 days. That measure covers states where sale prices are publicly recorded. Freddie Mac’s average 30-year fixed mortgage rate fell to 7.32% last week, from 7.40%. Next up: September new-home sales on Tuesday, Wednesday’s Fed decision, and GDP and PCE inflation figures on Thursday.

There’s no earnings call for a housing market, but there’s plenty to research. If you already follow US stocks, housing has its own fundamentals to get to know: who’s buying, how much is being built, and how quickly homes are selling. @ParclLabs lets you follow those signals across US housing markets. On Parcl V4, you can take a long or short position on listed US home-price indices, without buying a property.
