All I wanted for Christmas is my mum to be home from hospital but tonight we'll visit her in the hospice. Not the best of years.

What a couple of weeks. In fact, what a year. Roll on 2014, please.
Tomorrow we're going on holiday to a cabin in a forest in the middle of nowhere and I can't wait. Packing knitwear aplenty.

Time for me to come out of hibernation. Is anybody there? All fine here after a slightly crazy summer. Blog post coming soon...

I've been busy setting up a website for families living in and visiting York. It's called Little Vikings: little-vikings.co.uk/
Today I followed a Bob the Builder recipe from a CBeebies comic for tea. Thought it was a new personal low, but it tasted good. Thanks Bob.
Saturday night TV is like some kind of punishment for having no social life. Time to find a babysitter.

The baby has reached another important milestone: being able to high-five on demand. #proud

Not a single bag of @YorkshireTea left in the house. This is a disaster. Please send supplies.

Still very cross about how my mum was spoken to at the hospital yesterday. Can't fault the speed of her care, but there's no actual caring.
Dear NHS, please give your staff some training on how to speak to patients with kindness and sympathy. Many thanks.

Going with my mum to a scary hospital appointment tomorrow and rather dreading it. Hoping for good news.
