A landmark piece of Ayrton Senna history will be offered publicly for the first time at @Sothebys New York on November 16th during the Contemporary Art evening sale.
Peerless provenance surrounding a previously untold story known only to a handful of insiders. A special contract honored. Following Williams’ victory in the 1994 Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship, a car personally driven by Ayrton Senna was gifted to his family.
Retained by the Senna family for 30 years, from 1994 to 2024, this is the car Senna was meant to keep.
One of only two surviving Williams FW16s driven by the great Ayrton Senna at the start of the 1994 Formula 1 World Championship season, this exceptionally rare chassis was driven by three Formula 1 World Champions: Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, and Damon Hill.
Updated mid-season to the Constructors’ Championship-winning FW16B specification, this extraordinary car represents a remarkable chapter in Formula 1 history. #RMSothebys

Number 002 of just 500 built.
The Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II was developed with the DTM in mind, and this 1990 example has a particularly notable history. Retained by Mercedes-Benz when new, it was allocated to three-time DTM champion and AMG-Mercedes driver Klaus Ludwig for his personal use.
One of the earliest examples produced, it retains its matching-numbers 2.5-litre Cosworth engine and five-speed dog-leg gearbox. Having covered just 45,833 kilometres, it is accompanied by a letter from Ludwig confirming his ownership, alongside its factory Data Card, original order forms and Mercedes-Benz books and manuals.

One of Ferrari’s most visceral modern classics, with the history and care to match.
Born from Ferrari’s Challenge racing programme, the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale was built to focus on the car's most engaging elements, bringing together a naturally aspirated 3.6-litre V-8, 419 horsepower, extensive weight savings, and a sharper, more focused driving experience. The result is a Ferrari that feels immediate, visceral, and unapologetically connected to its competition roots.
Delivered new in Switzerland in July 2004, this example has since benefited from years of attentive ownership. Its original Ferrari warranty and service booklet accompany a documented maintenance history, with recent work including a comprehensive timing belt service and cooling system refresh in May 2026. Recognised with a Platinum Award at Concorso Italiano UAE in 2025, it shows 37,283 kilometres.
In an era of increasingly sophisticated performance cars, the Challenge Stradale offers something that cannot be measured in horsepower alone: the unmistakable sensation of being completely immersed in the drive.
This 2004 example is set to be offered at The Driven By Design Auction in Abu Dhabi on 9 December 2026. Register to bid via the link in bio.

Raging bull or the prancing horse?
Two V-12 icons from the 2000s, each with a very different character. The Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster brings open-air drama and 580 horsepower, while the Ferrari 550 Maranello pairs a naturally aspirated V-12 with a six-speed gated manual.
Both have seen remarkably little road use. The Murciélago has covered just 570 kilometres from new, while the 550 Maranello displays only 7,336 miles and features the rare Fiorano Handling Package.
