America used to do big things—we built the transcontinental railroad, we put a man on the moon, we electrified the nation, and more. But the promise of the American Dream has since gotten out of reach as Washington politicians pursued policies that shuttered factories and sent jobs overseas. 8 years ago today, 11 of our Jewish neighbors in Western PA were murdered at Tree of Life Synagogue in a terrible act of antisemitism and white supremacy. May their memory be a blessing. I voted NO on this sanctions bill because I thought it was foolish to give even more power to Donald Trump. And look what he just did with it: he waived all the bill’s sanctions on Russia, a total gift to Putin. This undermines our friends in Ukraine, who have fought valiantly for their sovereignty.
