As a church planter, you’ve been entrusted with a lot of responsibilities. But above all, you’ve been entrusted with the gospel. Let the gospel be your message and God’s glory be your motive.

Nearly 200 brand-new church planters have gathered together at Send Network Orientation to be sharpened in their gifts, to be encouraged in the work, and to spend time with God. Pray for them as they are poured into over these next 3 days!

Church planters, listen up!
The most vital attributes for a church planter ⬇️ You revere God. You abide in Christ. -Vital for the condition of your soul. -Vital for leading your family. -Vital for Spirit-empowered ministry. ✳️ These characteristics are magnetic to those who also want to walk closely with Jesus! --- From the most recent episode of the New Churches Podcast Featuring @drmedders, @Adam_Muhtaseb, & @JonathanParnell Audio/Video here: i-sml.mtrbio.com/public/smar… --- *A @sendnetwork podcast

📍Monterey County, California. 439,035 people. Only 4.97% Evangelical Christian. This county is home to two very different Californias: 1️⃣ the world-famous coastline of Monterey, Carmel, and Pebble Beach. 2️⃣ the agricultural heartland of the Salinas Valley. ✳️ Both are spiritually underserved. ‼️ Hispanic residents make up 62% of the county’s population — driven largely by generations of agricultural workers in “The Salad Bowl of the World.” ⚠️ 439,035 people — Only 138 Evangelical churches. 1 for every 3,181 people. Monterey County needs church planters. --- We post every week about the 50 least-reached cities in the U.S. Drop a follow so you don’t miss one! --- *Data attribution - “50 Least Reached Metro Areas” by JD Payne (Part 28/50)

Pastor Jeremy Stewart is not your typical church planter: he went from facing a life sentence in prison to being radically changed by Jesus and graduating with his Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Breakthrough Church was planted in 2025 in El Cajon, California, to help others seek and know Jesus! 🙏 Pray for God to use this congregation to impact their community. | #2026PrayerCalendar

76,248 people — Only 4.18% Evangelical Christian. 📍Auburn, New York. This region has a name in religious history books: “The Burned-Over District” the birthplace of some of America’s most intense religious revivals. In the early 1800s, upstate New York was swept by wave after wave of revival fire during the Second Great Awakening — so many, so often, that the region was said to have no “fuel” left to burn. But that revival fire didn’t stay evangelical. 76,248 people — Only 26 Evangelical churches. Auburn needs church planters. *4.18% Evangelical Christian --- We post every week about the 50 least-reached cities in the U.S. Drop a follow so you don’t miss one! --- *Data attribution - “50 Least Reached Metro Areas” by JD Payne (Part 27/50)

Great word on the conviction to plant from VP @noaholdham!
Farmers till the ground, sow seeds, and wait for rain. Prophets carry a heavy burden and are willing to suffer in order to see God’s message spread. Church planting isn’t one or the other. It’s both. Full episode with @noaholdham here: i-sml.mtrbio.com/public/smar…

“Grumbling is evangelism for the God of self.”
It is tempting to win people to our perspective when life isn’t going our way. But to resist grumbling is to demonstrate trust in God! From the New Churches Podcast with @drmedders Full audio/video: i-sml.mtrbio.com/public/smar…

At the California Baptist Annual Meeting, 165 Send Network-assessed and endorsed church planters were recognized and prayed over. Behind these planters are sending churches committed to praying, giving, and sending. We’re encouraged by what God is doing among California Baptists as churches are strengthened, leaders are developed, missionaries are sent, and the gospel advances. Join us in praying for these planters, their families, and the sending churches supporting them as we work together to reach every community with the gospel!

Church planting is hard, holy work. When the numbers dip, people leave, and the weight feels heavy, it’s easy to live as if God’s love depends on your performance. But 2 Samuel 9 reminds us what God’s covenant kindness looks like in these 4 ways. ⬇️ --- 1️⃣ You are sought. - God’s love initiates. - In 2 Samuel 9, David asks, “Is there anyone … to whom I can show kindness?” - God isn’t waiting for you to prove yourself. His grace moves toward the undeserving. - Church planter, you are sought out—not because of your performance, but because of His great kindness. 2️⃣ You are found. - Your place at the table is secure. - Mephibosheth wasn’t looking for a promotion. He was an unexpected recipient of the king’s kindness. - David restored his inheritance and welcomed him to the table. - Your place in God’s family isn’t earned by ministry success. So, sit down, eat, and receive. 3️⃣ You are known. - Being known doesn’t mean being sent away. - Mephibosheth called himself a “dead dog.” Ministry leaders know that inner voice: Imposter. Not enough. Liability. - God already knows your fears and failures. But in Christ, your deepest identity isn’t your ministry performance. - You are known, redeemed, and loved by Him. 4️⃣ You are held. - Grace holds you when ministry gets messy. - Mephibosheth lost land, but the king remained his treasure. - Psalm 23 promises God’s people a table even in the presence of their enemies—not a life without them. - God’s grace doesn’t always remove the hardship. Instead, it holds you through it. --- Still limping. Still planting. Still loved. Your seat at the table isn’t secured by your performance; it rests on God’s covenant kindness. You are sought. You are found. You are known. You are held. We are weak—and that’s a good thing, because He is strong. --- Want to read more? What if our goal wasn't just to see our churches renewed and revitalized, but to ultimately become a multiplying church? That doesn't sound crazy to God. churchreplanters.com
