I mean, all facets of content marketing should be seen this way IMO
LinkedIn makes a lot more sense once you see it this way:
You're not posting content, you're building trust before the sales call.
You're not writing hooks, you're earning the next 3 seconds.
You're not chasing followers, you're filtering for buyers.
You're not sending DMs, you're proving you did your homework.
You're not commenting, you're showing up where your buyers already hang out.
You're not updating your profile, you're building the page every prospect checks before they reply.
You're not launching a product, you're giving people a reason to talk about you.
I'm watching a Razorback basketball game tonight on SEC Plus, and I see two commercials: one by AirOps and one by Wispr, which I use as streaming commercials. It's a fascinating world right now

Have a WordPress product you need to promote? I am looking to fill up the last sponsorship spots for November for tabomango newsletter by this Friday. Large image ($200), some smaller square images ($75) and text ads ($25). Let's go! 🤗 RT pls
Alright *deep breath* going for it:
I was 11 when I walked into my middle school computer class and learned to program games in BASIC.
Today, I help agencies and solopreneurs take control of their WordPress sites.
I'm looking for sponsors to keep my free plugins, tutorials, and courses developing and to support a woman in tech who is bootstrapping it all.

A lead magnet is built for everybody, which means it’s built for nobody in particular.
A lead asset is built for one person.
It doesn’t scale. Neither does a handshake.

Sometimes.... you just need a little Darius Rucker
Heading down south to the land of the pines
I'm thumbing my way into North Caroline
Staring up the road and pray to God I see headlights
I made it down the coast in 17 hours
Picking me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
And I'm a-hoping for Raleigh, I can see my baby tonight
So rock me, mama, like a wagon wheel
Rock me, mama, any way you feel
Hey, mama, rock me
Rock me, mama, like the wind and the rain
Rock me, mama, like a southbound train
Hey, mama, rock me

One conversation with @boardyai about lead assets. I figured it'd turn into three pieces of content.
Then I counted. Four.
A Substack essay, a LinkedIn post, a LinkedIn newsletter, and an article on Copyflight. All built in the Claude Content Engine I set up. (The seven-page services guide got finished overnight too. Sleep is a suggestion.)
The Substack went out at 6:55 this morning.
A lead magnet is built for everybody, which means nobody in particular, and you trade it for an email address. A lead asset is built for one person, out of their own material. It's worth something even if they never hire me.
None of mine have turned into paid work yet. I put that in the essay too.
So I'm adding two things. A bridge that shows what one piece would look like across their whole business. And a door, which is a soft ask.
It doesn't scale. Neither does a handshake.
30 Days of @boardyai, today's progress:

Dusty Rhodes cut the best sales pitch of 1985.
He never once pitched the match.
He talked about the people watching. The auto workers. The guy who got a watch and a pink slip.
Most brands do the opposite. They talk about themselves for 30 seconds and wonder why nobody cheers.
Five lessons from the ring, in about 30 seconds. (Sound off is fine. Dusty would've hated that.)
Comment Dusty for the ebook link.

“Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m passionate about helping businesses grow.”
Three seconds. That’s about all she gets.
I’ve been harping on About pages for years. Workshops, audits, articles. The same thing keeps showing up: founders write the page for themselves, and the buyer leaves with three questions nobody answered.
Can I trust this person?
Do they understand my problem?
Are they the right fit for me?
Most About pages miss at least one. Some miss all three. (Sarah went 0 for 3. Sorry, Sarah.)
Watch the visitor bounce. Then go look at yours.
Which one is your page failing?

Would anybody notice?
That’s what Google means by commodity content. It’s the first thing AI Overviews devour.
The opposite takes five checks. Relevant. Engaging. Original. Inspirational. Transformational.
Original is the one most people skip. I call it receipts.

LinkedIn keeps telling me my next client is a copywriter.
Copywriters are 1% of the people looking at my profile.
Founders, owners, CEOs, co-founders and presidents are 23%.
I don't write for copywriters. From what I hear, they look for a real long time, never say a word, then one day show up in your DMs.
LinkedIn's doing its best impression of @boardyai. It's not there yet.
