So we had to make a detour on the way home from the St. George Halloween Special. @CasaBonita was such a blast! We got to celebrate Kat's birthday and had Jeff from the @TeslaMaryland crew to hang out with!

The Cyberbeast, Charlie. Mod #2: the lights 🌈 A lot of folks have asked about Charlie’s lights. They can be set to any color, run dozens of crazy patterns, and sync to music and light shows. Here’s the setup: 1/ Midnight Garage in Fremont, which works closely with OC Detailing, is my go-to installer and fabricator. They coordinated every mod except the wraps, and other shops handled the specialized work. Several things had to be custom fabricated to pull Charlie all together. 2/ The color-changing roof light bar, interior ambient lights, underglow, wheel lights, rock lights, and rail lights are all XKGlow, installed by Midnight Garage. 3/ The bumper lights are by Baja Designs, supplied by CybertruckCo and converted to color-changing by SW Lights. The Baja Designs lights are critical to the blizzard-readiness of Charlie as we go to Tahoe every weekend in the winter. In the event that headlights are obstructed, the frunk light bar, which can cause glare in a snowstorm can be turned off, and the Baja Designs bumper lights are angled down to provide maximum illumination in a snowstorm and they work great. Blinding snow effect is what happens when roof light bar and frunk light bar are engaged, but ground illumination is perfect with just the bumper lights. 4/ SW Lights also custom-converted the headlights, frunk bar, and bed lights to color-changing. I don’t know of any other shop that can do this work. 5/ Midnight Garage hand-wove 1,000 fiber optic strands into the headliner and side liners to create the pulsing star effect inside Charlie. 6/ Auxiliary batteries hidden under the bed power all the lights, plus two fridges, Starlink, several routers and access points, and the induction stove hidden in the Cyberslide. The solar panels on the Mars roof rack help charge them, and all of this will be described in future posts. 7/ A manual power controller under the screen flips out of sight and controls the power for most of the lighting effects. The light apps max out their channels and inputs, so it takes two dedicated iPhones, one for inside and one for outside, to command the whole system. Stay tuned for more.
