Texas didn't just go blue. It fired a governor who spent three terms dictating what teachers could teach and starving their classrooms. Voters picked public schools instead. That is not a wave. That is a verdict.

Adrian Neibauer announced his new book, *The Redress of Teaching*, releasing February 2027. Drawing on 25+ years as a teacher, he reflects on post-pandemic burnout, pressure from standardized testing, and AI's growing threat to classrooms—arguing for keeping teaching human-centered rather than data-driven. Though I see some of these issues differently myself, I truly value Adrian's honest, thoughtful voice and his deep care for students' humanity in education. adrianneibauer.substack.com/…

Amazing: NBC just interviewed a Republican voter in Texas who voted for Democrats up and down the ballot. They asked him what would happen if Democrats win tonight: "Well, I don't think our kids are going to come home a different gender tomorrow."

Have you noticed how some parts of your day leave you feeling drained, while other activities energize you? 💚
This image offers a chance to pause and take notice. Maybe you’ve been working through breaks, scrolling longer than you meant to, or putting rest at the very bottom of your priority list.
What could you make a little more room for today?
☀️ A few minutes outdoors.
🍎 Something nourishing to eat.
💃 Movement you enjoy.
🗣️ A conversation with someone who helps you feel connected.
Start with something small that fits your energy and circumstances. You can build from there, one small choice and one day at a time.

My blog says that just giving students an assignment isn't the same as actually teaching them how to do it. When instructions are unclear, students start guessing, and the classroom turns chaotic—which can look like bad behavior but is really a sign that teaching never happened. Backed by research, I share one simple fix: before handing out a task, teachers should try completing it themselves first. That way, they can spot confusing parts and teach them before students get stuck. rodjnaquin.substack.com/p/as…

My blog breaks down why classroom interruptions quietly drain learning time. Citing Brown University research, it shows interruptions cost 10–20 instructional days yearly, often unnoticed by administrators. The piece urges schools to protect class time through better scheduling and offers a practical tool, "Name the Minute," to weigh whether an interruption's cost is truly worth it. rodjnaquin.substack.com/p/co…
