The #Rockies hired Owen Cuffe to be their ACL Pitching and Rehab Coach going into last season as an ascending pitching mind from a strong braintrust at the U of Arizona.
Just a season later and Cuffe is now the Rockies' Assistant Director of Pitching.

More of this, please.
In the midst of our big moments and everyday demands, may we remember to reach out to another, lift them up, and welcome them in.
To us, it may cost little. To a child, it can mean everything.
Here is to seeing someone, making room for them, and taking a moment to give them a memory that can fuel their spirit, expand their horizons, and perhaps even change what they believe is possible.
May we see more of this.
May we be more of this.

#Nationals LHP Jackson Kent's first Major League Strikeout
This is one of the better threads you will read. I was fortunate enough to coach B Mac, I learned way more from him than he ever did from me. Mentally gifted, it was his super power as a player! He is going to absolutely crush it. Going to get guys tapped in!

My baseball career went further than my physical ability said it should have.
I competed with players who were stronger, faster, and more talented than me.
Looking back, I know what my edge was…

#Nationals pitcher Jackson Kent walks off to an ovation from the home crowd.
He became just the sixth pitcher in #Nats history (2005-pres) to record 6+ strikeouts in his Major League debut.
A strong start to his career against an amazing #Cubs lineup.

One offseason. Twenty points off the ground-ball rate.
Byron Buxton 2018: 49.2 ground-ball rate, elite sprint speed, no slug to speak of.
Byron Buxton 2019: 29.6 ground-ball rate, same 44 pull rate, completely different output.
The pull tendency didn't change. That's the swing that built the slugger we see now.

I want to note when Brooke Wells hit the go ahead to put up a 3 run lead, the happiest person to greet her, Mari Hubbard, was the happiest I’ve ever seen anyone.
She’s not in the starting line up, she didn’t get into the game.
That’s Alabama softball.

Ashten Ballew (‘26) got it started early for Katy launching this no doubt 💣 to the PS. Small leg lift and getting the hands to an elevated pitch to do damage. The top remaining @PG_Uncommitted continues to show off his tools.
