Our recent @NatureClimate paper w @tkazlou & @acherp argues there is little hope #ccs can grow fast enough for 1.5°C target. The 2°C target is realistic only if CCS failures drop & CCS eventually grows as fast as mainstream energy technologies. nature.com/articles/s41558-0…

Great discussion today on the current political moment, and how we should reimagine sustainable urbanism. Thanks for engaging, @VaneBailo and others at #RSAWinter conference. @UiBCET
The current political climate is a key moment to renew our vision and tools for urban #sustainability.
It’s time to rethink and redesign our approach to sustainable #development. Thought-provoking insights from @HavardHaarstad in his @RSA_TPG keynote at the #RSAWinter conference.

I am migrating, or escaping, rather, to where the skies are blue. Find me there at havardhaarstad and so on. Also, @UiBCET is really worth a follow over there, join its almost 3,000 followers, at uibcet etc. My account here will be deleted at the end of this year.

Really nice to be at the @UiBCET retreat this autumn, the first time I've been able to make it across for this gathering since our daughter was born. It is so important to convene as a group in convivial ways, bond and take stock, share space and time. Grateful to be part of it!

Real big congrats @HuiwenGong and the magnificent bunch of collaborators you've brought together for this project just funded by @forskningsradet (on your first try)! I look forward to collaborating on researching the Nordic battery value chain from @UiBCET these next four years!

"De som er i best posisjon til å sette i gang nødvendige endringer, er samtidig ofte de som tjener på å opprettholde status quo. Det betyr at de ikke har like stor interesse for å forandre fundamentale ting som sosial ulikhet eller forbrukerkultur. Kapitalismen dominerer globalt, og gjør at ressurser betraktes og behandles som varer. Dette framprovoserer klimaendringer fordi store selskaper forurenser mye, og legger kostnaden og risikoen over på staten og andre sosiale aktører."

New paper: We analysed the actions outlined the Climate Action Plans of 19 major cities - 1079 actions in total - to find out how many of them are 'soft'. Surprised to find that the majority of planned actions are soft - lobbying, incentivising, raising awareness. @UiBCET
Be sure to stop by Smauet Cafe in NG5 at @UiB during @HolbergPrize week. There you will find the textile painting “Inclusion, Commoning, Organising” which is an art-science collaboration between Nils Klim Laureate @sidsareen and artist Margrethe Brekke.
The artwork features a poem written by @sidsareen and its thrust is captured in the highlighted quote 🚲 “Electric bicycles are the unsung hero of urban transport transitions”. The artwork is part of the research project ROLES: Responsive Organising for Low Emission Societies”.
