I filled out my ballot and put it in a drop box this morning. We're seeing more voters who mail their ballot and it either doesn't get postmarked or delivered in time to be counted due to U.S. Postal Service delays. Washingtonians should use one of the 601 drop boxes and 64 voting centers across our state.

You should know that 200,000 more Washingtonians are expected to lose Medicaid/Apple Health coverage due to the Big Bad Betrayal Bill. Starting on January 1st, more than 600,000 Washingtonians will be subject to work requirements for the first time in order to keep their Apple Health coverage. These individuals will also be required to reapply twice as frequently. We're leading the nation with our work on an automated verification hub. That will help 400,000 Washingtonians stay covered. If you have Apple Health: ⁣ ⁣ • Make sure all your information is current ⁣ • Look out for communications, including mail, from Apple Health ⁣ • Help spread the word with friends, family and co-workers and help them verify their information

In Washington state, we know that our diversity is our strength. President Ronald Reagan established today as National Immigrants Day, recognizing the anniversary of the unveiling of the Statue of Liberty. His words remain true today: "Immigrants have always brought great gifts to their new home on these shores -- the gifts of hardiness and heart, of intellect and hope."

During fires, floods, and other tragedies and threatening situations across our state, our first responders put themselves in harm's way to save lives. It's inspiring to see their professionalism, skill, and bravery. Thank you to our first responders, and happy National First Responders Day.

Dolores Huerta was a force for civil rights. She helped shape our nation's history, and made a difference in the lives of countless farmworkers. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations of Washingtonians to fight for justice. My thoughts are with her family.

John Olerud is a legendary Coug and a great Washingtonian. It was an honor to attend the dedication of his statue in Pullman. When John was a Cougar and shutting down the Huskies year after year, I was a UW student. Grudging respect? Absolutely. Fan? Not so much. In his rookie MLB year, I took a trip to see a game in every stadium. It was exciting to see a kid from Washington state competing at the highest level when I saw John playing in Toronto, and since then, I've been a fan. As Governor, and as a dad to a fastpitch softball player, thank you for being an outstanding player and an exceptional role model.

Two big announcements today: I signed an executive order creating the state's first Chief Fraud Prevention Officer and a statewide fraud prevention workgroup to unify and expand our existing fraud prevention efforts. I will also propose legislation expanding the current Medicaid False Claims Act to cover all false claims against Washington state. False claims include things like overcharging the government or submitting false grant applications. This new law will help hold violators accountable. Washington state takes fraud seriously. As we continue to face challenging state budgets and devastating cuts from the federal government, it is more important than ever to protect every dollar.

Washington state is home to one of the best workforces in the world, one of the fastest growing economies in the country, and record-breaking investments in exciting industries like space and fusion. Proud to be in partnership with our business community to continue moving our state forward. It was great to speak with CEO Joe Nguyen and other business leaders with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce on Friday.

It's important that Washington state works with our partners around the world, especially given our challenges at the federal level. That's not a political statement — that's a factual statement. We as a state value our partnerships and want that to continue.

We warned President Trump and the MAGA Congress against passing the Big Betrayal Bill, knowing it would hurt hospitals in every part of our state. A new report shows Washington's hospitals will lose $6 billion due to their Medicaid cuts. That is devastating to our healthcare system. washingtonstatestandard.com/…

This weekend, we celebrated Puget Soundkeeper's work to keep the Puget Sound clean. Thanks for being a strong partner in enforcing laws around clean water and getting trash out of our waterways. It was wonderful to see some of the next generation from Auburn High School who will care for our environment well into the future.

The wildfires in Central and Eastern Washington destroyed 649 primary residences and damaged an additional 2,542 homes. More than 65,000 people were evacuated in Spokane County. Federal financial assistance is critical to help these communities recover and rebuild.
Central and Eastern Washington experienced some of the most destructive fires we've ever seen in Washington state history. Today, I sent this video to the Trump Administration. We're asking them to grant a Major Disaster Declaration to help these communities recover.

More than half of the satellites in space right now were made here in Washington state. We just had our strongest quarter — maybe ever — for venture capital investment in startups with the space economy as a major driver. Great to be at the Seattle Space Superiority Summit yesterday. I'm committed to doubling down on our success. That's why I created the Governor's Space Council to ensure we continue to innovate, compete, and move forward as a leader nationwide and worldwide.

It was an honor to sign a cooperative agreement yesterday with Ambassador Karen Eva Abrahamsen of the Royal Danish Embassy. This next phase of our partnership focuses on areas like developing our ports and sustainable aviation fuel. We also look forward to working together on industrial symbiosis — making business more efficient by capturing waste from one industry and using it for another — an area where Washington state leads the nation. We're excited for further research and business partnerships, study and trade missions, and more. I'm proud to have this strong partnership with Denmark.

Fast-moving wildfires in Central and Eastern Washington devastated communities around our state. Communities like Adam's have been changed forever. I'm asking the Trump Administration for a Major Disaster Declaration, unlocking critical assistance to help Washingtonians recover and rebuild. Federal support is essential.

Ran into a group of future state leaders and took questions about affordable housing and the early learning center at Mount Baker. It's a reminder of how transformational this will be for so many families with children. Proud that our state is a partner on this project and making record investments in affordable housing — nearly $1 billion in this 2-year budget.

Last October, we reopened the White River Bridge weeks ahead of schedule. This closure was catastrophic for commuters and businesses. Since then, we've installed an over-height detection system for the bridge. We also made a historic investment in preserving our roads and bridges — a 36% increase. I will continue to make taking care of our roads and bridges a key focus of my administration.
Footage of the first cars coming across the White River Bridge on Friday! Thank you to our crews, engineers, and contractors, working hard 7 days a week, for making this happen for communities in Enumclaw and Buckley.
