🤖 AI might feel like magic, but every interaction has a cost. Every time you ask ChatGPT a question, generate an image or get an AI agent to complete a task, you're consuming something called tokens. And those tokens are becoming an increasingly important part of the economics of artificial intelligence. 💰 Welcome to the world of AI tokenomics. As businesses move from experimenting with AI to deploying it across entire organisations, understanding token consumption, processing costs and the economics of AI models is becoming essential. A simple AI request might cost very little. But what happens when thousands of employees are using AI every day, or autonomous agents are completing complex tasks involving millions of tokens? 📊 The real challenge isn't just making AI more powerful. It's making AI economically sustainable at scale. The winners in the AI economy won't necessarily be those using the most AI. They'll be those generating the greatest value from every pound they spend. 💬 Could the cost of AI become one of the biggest barriers to widespread adoption? 👇 #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #AITokenomics #AITokens #AIROI #GenerativeAI #ChatGPT #AIAgents #AIInfrastructure #AIStrategy #FutureOfAI #BusinessAI

🤖 Goldman Sachs is embracing AI agents. Could this change the future of banking? Artificial intelligence is moving beyond chatbots and simple productivity tools. We're entering an era where AI agents can take on increasingly complex tasks and support entire business processes. 🚀 And when major financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs explore this technology, it's a sign of just how significant this transformation could become. From analysing financial information and supporting research to streamlining operations and automating repetitive workflows, AI agents have the potential to fundamentally change how financial services operate. 📊 But this isn't just about replacing manual tasks. It's about rethinking how work gets done, how employees collaborate with intelligent systems and where human expertise delivers the greatest value. Of course, in an industry built on trust, security and accountability, human oversight remains essential. The big question is no longer whether AI agents will enter the workplace, but how organisations will manage them effectively. 💬 Would you trust an AI agent to handle important financial tasks? 👇 #AI #GoldmanSachs #AIAgents #AgenticAI #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfBanking #FinancialServices #FinTech #FutureOfWork #AITransformation #BusinessAI #Automation

A wrong answer from a chatbot is annoying. A wrong decision from an autonomous AI agent could trigger thousands of actions before anyone spots the error. 🤖 #Sponsored And as businesses increasingly rely on AI agents to make decisions, execute tasks and work with other agents, this becomes a serious concern. I recently had a fascinating conversation with Stijn (Stan) Christiaens, Co-founder and Chief Data Citizen at Collibra, about what it really takes to make autonomous AI work reliably at scale. One topic we explored was the hidden "hallucination tax", the financial and operational costs businesses incur when AI systems make mistakes or act on unreliable information. And there's a real challenge here. 📊 Collibra's research found that 76% of surveyed data and AI decision-makers encountered critical roadblocks when moving AI agents from pilots into production. Two critical issues are emerging: 🔹 Context: Do AI agents have access to the right business data, knowledge and policies to make informed decisions? 🔹 Control: Do organizations know what their agents are doing, what information they're accessing and which actions they're allowed to take? I also came across a fascinating example from Helvetia Baloise, which is using an air traffic control approach to oversee its growing portfolio of AI initiatives, supported by Collibra. But I believe there's an even bigger opportunity here. Most organizations are still focused on adding AI agents to existing business processes. What happens when we fundamentally rethink those processes around the capabilities of autonomous AI? That's where I believe some of the most significant business opportunities will emerge. However, achieving this requires trustworthy data, effective governance and a willingness to rethink how organizations operate. In this article, I explore the challenges of scaling autonomous AI, what we can learn from businesses already tackling them, and what leaders should be doing differently. linkedin.com/pulse/ai-agent-… 💬 Here's a question for business leaders: If your organization deployed 100 autonomous AI agents tomorrow, would you know exactly what each one was doing and what decisions it was making? London looked spectacular in the sunshine today - and what a setting for Birdeye Viewpoint at The Lookout, 8 Bishopsgate. It was a pleasure to deliver the keynote with those incredible views across the city. In my talk, I explored the technology trends that will transform our world: from increasingly powerful AI driving an intelligence explosion and making intelligence a commodity, to its convergence with digital twins, 3D printing, gene editing, quantum computing, virtual and augmented reality, crypto and space technology. We also explored physical and embedded AI, including increasingly capable robots and humanoids. And, of course, one of today’s biggest topics: agentic AI, with all the opportunities and challenges that come with systems that can take action on our behalf. These technologies are evolving together, and their combined impact will be profound. Thank you to @Birdeye and everyone who joined us for a fantastic day.

🧠 Is AI making us more productive… but less skilled? Artificial intelligence can now write, analyse, research, solve problems and complete tasks that previously required years of experience. 🤖 But there's a growing concern we need to take seriously: AI deskilling. If we constantly rely on AI to do the thinking, make decisions and complete challenging tasks for us, could we gradually lose the very skills that make us valuable? The answer isn't to stop using AI. It's to use it differently. Instead of simply accepting AI-generated answers, we should challenge them, understand the reasoning, practise our own skills and use AI as a tool for learning rather than a replacement for effort. The goal shouldn't be to let AI do everything we can do. It should be to use AI to become better at what we do. 🚀 Watch the video and tell me: Do you think AI is making people smarter or more dependent on technology? 👇 #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #AIDeskilling #FutureOfWork #FutureSkills #CriticalThinking #GenerativeAI #AIProductivity #HumanSkills #AITips #WorkplaceAI #FutureOfAI

Everyone wants to scale AI agents. But how many businesses really know what their agents are doing? 🤖 This was one of the biggest questions coming up at World Summit AI in Amsterdam. I caught up with Bianca Vloon, Regional VP of Sales, Northern Europe at @Collibra, to discuss what she's hearing from business and technology leaders. And something interesting is happening. A year ago, the conversations were largely about understanding what AI could do. Today, companies are much more focused on deploying AI into production, scaling it successfully and making sure they can actually trust it. As Bianca explained, two things are becoming increasingly important: 🔹 Context: AI agents need the right business knowledge, trustworthy data, policies and processes to make good decisions. 🔹 Control: Organizations need visibility into what their AI agents are doing, what information they can access and which actions they're allowed to take. And there's another important consideration: cost. Businesses need to balance speed, trust and governance while ensuring their AI investments deliver real value. I think this reflects a significant shift in the AI conversation. We're moving from experimenting with what the technology can do to figuring out how to make it work reliably across entire organizations. This is where Collibra is doing some really interesting work to close the context and control gap that enterprises struggle with. Their AI Command Center provides a centralized view of every agent, model and use case, governed with continuous trust signals, automated traceability and proactive risk prevention. A must for deploying AI at scale. collibra.com/products/ai-com… #Sponsored #AgenticAI #AIAgents #ArtificialIntelligence #AIGovernance #Collibra

87% of developers are getting faster with AI. Only 28% say they're experiencing less friction in their work. Something isn't adding up. #Sponsored Those are two of the striking findings from @Atlassian's new State of Developer Experience 2026 report. And the research reveals some other fascinating insights into the gap between AI's promises and what businesses are actually achieving. Consider these findings: 65% of developers spend time correcting AI-generated work that missed the original intent. 49% spend at least four hours a week managing AI tools and reviewing code. 60% say AI usage is treated as a signal of productivity. That last statistic particularly caught my attention. Are we creating a culture where being seen to use AI matters more than the value it actually delivers? I've been arguing for some time that the biggest benefits of AI will come from fundamentally rethinking how organizations operate. Giving employees increasingly powerful AI tools while leaving outdated processes, fragmented systems and unnecessary bureaucracy untouched will only get us so far. And here's another telling finding: Only 17% of developers say their organization has a clear AI strategy across the software development lifecycle. Yet developers in organizations with a clear strategy are nearly twice as likely to report less friction. For me, this is where the real opportunity lies. We need to move beyond using AI for individual tasks and start rethinking entire workflows, connecting information across systems and enabling people to work more effectively. In software development, that means adopting a more AI-native approach across the entire development lifecycle. And I believe the same principle applies to virtually every business function. Ultimately, the goal should be better business outcomes, not simply more AI-generated code, more AI tools or more AI activity. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Is AI genuinely making your organization more productive, or are we simply getting faster at generating work that someone else needs to check? 🚀 AI is making us faster. So why aren't businesses more productive? According to Atlassian's latest research, 87% of developers say AI helps them write code faster, yet only 28% experience less friction in their work. That's the AI productivity paradox. We're accelerating individual tasks, but outdated processes, disconnected systems and unnecessary bureaucracy are still holding businesses back. 💡 The real opportunity isn't simply giving everyone AI tools. It's rethinking how work gets done, measuring meaningful outcomes and empowering people to work smarter. In my latest article, I explore four important lessons every business leader should understand about AI productivity. 👉 Is AI genuinely transforming your business, or just helping you do the same things faster? linkedin.com/pulse/ai-making… Paid partnership with Atlassian. #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Productivity #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfWork #Leadership #Developers #Engineers #Atlassian

📊 Everyone is investing in AI. But how many businesses can actually prove it's delivering value? Artificial intelligence promises greater productivity, lower costs, faster decisions and better customer experiences. But simply introducing AI doesn't guarantee a return on investment. 🤖 The real challenge is understanding what AI is actually contributing to your business. Are employees saving meaningful time? Are processes becoming more efficient? Is customer satisfaction improving? Are you generating more revenue or reducing operating costs? And importantly, are those benefits greater than the cost of implementing, maintaining and managing the technology? AI success shouldn't be measured by how many tools you deploy — but by the business outcomes they deliver. The organisations that succeed with AI won't just be the ones experimenting with the latest technology. They'll be the ones that can demonstrate measurable results. 🚀 How is your organisation measuring the value of AI? 👇 #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #AIROI #AIStrategy #BusinessAI #DigitalTransformation #AIValue #Productivity #AILeadership #GenerativeAI #BusinessTransformation #FutureOfWork

Are we losing control of artificial intelligence? And if we are, would we even recognize it before it's too late? It was a real pleasure to be invited back to the BBC to discuss one of the most important questions facing humanity today. I joined presenters Marc Cieslak and Dr. Stephanie Hare, as well as AI safety researcher Roman Yampolskiy for an episode of AI Decoded exploring the growing concerns around AI safety and the possibility of superintelligent systems that we may no longer be able to control. We discussed some fascinating and difficult questions: 🔹 Are the warnings about AI posing an existential threat to humanity justified, or are we overstating the dangers? 🔹 With billions being invested in increasingly powerful AI, are the technology companies racing ahead faster than we can develop the safeguards? 🔹 As AI agents become more autonomous, how do we maintain meaningful human oversight when thousands of agents could be making decisions and taking actions at machine speed? 🔹 Could control of AI infrastructure, from advanced chips to data centers, become a defining national security issue? 🔹 Do we need an international body to independently assess frontier AI models and establish enforceable safety standards? 🔹 And perhaps most importantly, are we at risk of gradually handing over so much responsibility to AI that we lose our own skills, judgment and independence? My perspective is that AI offers extraordinary opportunities to improve our world, from accelerating scientific discoveries to tackling some of humanity's biggest challenges. But we would be foolish to dismiss the risks. We are giving AI more autonomy faster than we are developing the systems to supervise it. And while everyone agrees that safety matters, the reality is that nobody wants to slow down first. A fascinating discussion with some genuinely different perspectives. Thank you to the BBC for having me back! Watch it here: youtu.be/eRRiAEdHtDY?is=-yQ7…
