She truly is exactly as she appears, and these videos do a beautiful job demonstrating it. I know I've talked about it on here numerous times (especially lately), but it will never cease to awe and amaze me that the first words out of @KamalaHarris' mouth after I met her in November and told her about my in-progress master's thesis were: "Oh wow, that's amazing! You should talk to my colleague, Ike — after we take our photo, go give him your email because I would love to hear about what you're finding in relation to young people." Just like that. No request from me. No ask to share with her on my part, no knowledge Ike would even be there, nothing other than me saying I research the intersection of LGBTQ+ youth and social media. And immediately, she wanted to hear about it, in a way that wasn't a two-minute sales pitch at a meet and greet. She wanted me to talk to her team, because it's something she's passionate about, and something she wants to learn about. From a random master's student from a Canadian university. This isn't me bragging, or gloating, or any of that. It's an attempt to illustrate what is so plainly on display in these videos — she is grounded, she is compassionate, she is invested, with every fibre of her being, in listening to and helping people. She is the most authentic human being I have ever encountered in my life. I told her what I do. She gave me the contact information of one of her senior staffers because she wants to read it and hear about what I'm finding. And the best part? It's actually happening, because he emailed me this week. Just a sweet, lovely little story. She is so, so lovely. 💙💙

The argument that Harris is acquiescing to the demands of leftists and that it's somehow a bad thing that she's campaigning for people like AES and Nixon is short-sighted. Kamala Harris has been a progressive for her entire career. She was the second-most liberal Democratic senator to serve in the Senate in the 21st century based on her roll call voting record. In 2019, GovTrack ranked her as the “most liberal compared to All Senators.” None of this is new for her. She is not compromising anything — not her values, not her policy positions, not her morals, not her principles. This is who she is. She hasn't ever been moderate. And she is a leader who wants to help the Democratic Party be as strong as possible. If you take issue with that, you weren't a true Harris fan to begin with.

You know — many people, including me, had sort of written off New Hampshire as a state where Kamala Harris could potentially do well. That has been flipped on its head entirely after today. I say this and mean it genuinely: I have not seen a candidate with this much raw, innate appeal when they campaign since Obama. I have not seen her be quite this natural when she’s campaigning, ever. She is on a whole new level lately, and I think many are underestimating her strength, even in a state like NH.
