Taxpayers are paying for socialism in Ukraine, our "NATO allies" (soon to be majority-Muslim nations with a nuclear arsenal), and Israel - which even provides taxpayer funded abortions. Why are the boot strap speeches only ever used to scold American citizens?
Yeah we all remember that and I also remember not being stupid enough to think the government could fix it all for me. I remember having four roommates while I was a young Navy SEAL and saving money on my first deployment to Iraq to buy my first home. I remember when people didn’t believe that someone else should pay for some make-believe lifestyle we thought we deserved…because we believed we had to figure it out ourselves. I also remember when Republicans were honest enough to tell people the truth and fight for policy that would have long term benefits even if unpopular in the short term. If anyone thinks the lesson about “affordability” in this election is just becoming more populist and more liberal, then go join the Democrat party. They’ll be happy to have you, bribing voters with promises of free crap.
Or…do a better job making the economic case for what you know is right.
I’m still team Trump. Why? Because his policies are grounded in the long term, not the convenient short term. GOOD. Double down on the agenda.
Who cares if we lost the midterms? Nothing changes. We already had a deadlocked Congress anyway.
And how about you supposed “conservative commentators” tell the truth about issues like affordability? Republicans made sure the average family of 4 didn’t see a $10,000 increase in taxes last year. *Money that Democrats voted to take from you.* Republicans push for permitting reform and deregulation. Supply side policies that decrease inflation long term. Tariffs suck in the short term but in the long term will bring manufacturing here. Biden and his Democrats caused 9% inflation. The high prices you see now? Guess what, 76% of that higher price is from the Biden years. The rest is gas prices which admittedly is caused by the actions in Iran. GOOD. All I have to pay is 30% higher gas and I get to make sure Iran can’t point a nuke at me?? GOOD.
By the way, lots of other consumer goods are cheaper. Prescription drugs are 4.5% LOWER. The biggest cost increases are housing and healthcare. Why? Because Obamacare wrecked the healthcare market and blue states make it impossible to permit new home building. But who cares about the facts, right? Good job, Texas! Say goodbye to your low cost of living and pro-business reputation. And thank the braindead right wing populists that threw their votes away in protest (also thank Paxton for running the worst campaign ever….).
Republicans need to stop running away from good policy and principles just because it MIGHT win an election. Thats the Democrat way. Fuck that. Stick to principle. And LEARN HOW TO ACTUALLY EXPLAIN GOOD POLICY TO VOTERS. The moronic consultant class told the GOP to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on transgender ads instead of the economy.
Incredibly stupid.
Let’s learn some lessons, but for God’s sake learn the RIGHT lessons.
Talarico can now block every judicial nomination for Texas under the made-up blue slip rule. Senator Grassley refused to end this. He needs to step aside, all leadership needs to. They won't though.
One home-state senator can block a federal district court nomination through the U.S. Senate’s 'blue slip' rules. This means Texas won't be able to get conservative judges. Grassley refused to end blue slips. Now this! All Senate leadership must step aside.
Damn. This article makes a great point. Because Senator Grassley refused to end the blue slip system, which allowed Democrats to back Trump nominees, even red states won't get conservative judges after last night's flip. politico.com/news/2026/11/04…

Yes @Cernovich, in Utah it was never the Democrats who rolled out the red carpet.
This is Republican Governor Gary Herbert (Spencer Cox was Lieutenant Governor) writing to Trump in October 2019, after the administration cut refugee admissions and gave states a veto.
Herbert begged to take more, not less; historically 1,000+ per year from “troubled regions of the world.” He cited pioneer history, claimed the need “has not decreased,” and said Utah was “far from” any capacity limit.
The same pattern continued under Cox. Afghan resettlement at the largest scale in state history, an Afghan Community Fund, in-state tuition expanded to refugees/asylees/parolees/TPS, and public messaging that refugees are welcome and fill workforce needs.
Salt Lake and Boise did not become ground zero by accident.
To every Utah Republican being told the only path forward is a “coalition” that links arms with the people who built and defended this system: extreme caution.
Joining the establishment does not remove the establishment. It becomes the establishment.
Grassroots control of primaries and local offices is the only mechanism that actually changes incentives. Everything else is just a softer version of the same Establishment.
Blue slips should have been ended. Senate leadership must be replaced.
NEW: Trump's ability to confirm judges is nearing an end — and Democrats' capture of red state Senate seats means they could even stop a future GOP president from appointing judges in famously conservative federal district courts.

Hey, Governor Abbott, fast-track all necessary permits and approvals for Elon Musk and SpaceX before the new year and the new governor takes office!
Once legally issued, permits establish rights that a new administration generally cannot revoke arbitrarily or simply for political reasons.
Get those permits approved, secured, and on the books before the transition!
Sincerely,
Americans that care.

I wasted enough of my life in the Middle East to know the Iran war would be another debacle with disastrous consequences. It was like watching a slow-motion train wreck unfold. Lost thousands of followers for saying so. Don’t care, I will always say what I know to be true.

Many of the podcasters buy tons of fake views and pretend to have clout. It’s not even real.
Last night showed that with neocons you lose. People with billionaire donors who can afford to buy a blog for $150,000,000 don't actually win elections. They lose them. They do not have real audiences. It is all pay-for-play via Facebook advertising and YouTube auto-rolling podcasts via paid traffic campaigns. I still wish people had voted Republican. But last night sent an unmistakable message. Dave Smith and libertarians have more electoral clout than neocon podcasters, because at the margins, libertarians can cost us close races as happened in George two cycles ago and Ohio yesterday. Does this mean you court Dave Smith? That's a question for others to an answer. I am merely describing the political reality.
Democrats will let El-Sayed and a few others give riveting speeches against the Iran war, for clip farmers to post, and then the NDAA will pass overwhelmingly. There won't be anymore talk of "the Epstein class." Time for Democrat voters to have their own Taco Tuesday.
I agree that the reason Republicans lost is the Iran war. I would add the corruption epitomized by the Epstein cover up.
Here is what I propose:
1. Support a continuing resolution prohibiting the financing of any combat activities of the U.S. military in Iran. End the Iran war like we did for Vietnam.
2. Support the zeroing out of all aid to Israel in the continuing resolution.
3. Support Massie and my Epstein 2.0 Act to allow state attorney generals to prosecute the pedophiles who abused and trafficked young girls.
Will you actually now do any of these three things?
Yep. It wasn't ICE. It wasn't Bo French's post. It wasn't insufficiently pandering to the Jewish vote (which went 70-30 for El-Sayed). It was the price of diesel, which every construction worker felt. It was cost of living. It was the war in Iran. It was Trump.
Remember all of those planted stories about the "money advantage" had by MAGA Inc.? What happened there?
The podcasters are irrelevant and also the podcasters are responsible for the worst midterm result in over 100 years. Neocon brain rot. Thank goodness nobody has to pretend that they swing elections. Well, not in OUR favor, anyway.
