He's the only one allowed to do it for the moment (rules are rules, after all), but just the fact he can do it (and even though he's voting for himself) fills the hearts of common Chinese with ever-swelling pride at the thought, One day, me too!

Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong, already serving a 4 year plus jail sentence, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiring to collude with foreign forces.
Good morning Hong Kong, we are live tweeting from the High Court today as the sentencing of Joshua Wong should begin shortly. Wong previously pled guilty to one charge of foreign collusion with overseas activist Nathan Law to impose sanctions on China.

Translation: Wang Yi told Lazaro to muzzle Teodoro. Good luck with that.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged the Philippine side to rein in relevant individuals and send a rational and unified message on its China policy, in a phone conversation on Tuesday with Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro. Lazaro said the Philippines remains committed to its one-China policy, and is willing to resolve maritime and other issues with China through dialogue and consultation. globaltimes.cn/page/202611/1…

The #PRC is such a big bully. In addition to the high number of air sorties indicated earlier, the #PLAN & #CCG have also deployed 100+ vessels in the #WesternPacific as of now. #Taiwan is staying vigilant. We won’t provoke, but we won’t bow to any pressure.

That's three potential Trump supporters a week now they're not drowning!
Trump: "We were losing on average to death 3 people a week. And now we don't have that."

Actually the “dropping dumplings into a pot” (下饺子) analogy was first coined and popularised by PRC netizens to boast about the phenomenal speed at which their domestic shipyards churn out vessels for the PLA Navy and China Coast Guard. 😉
Would appreciate it if our friends in Taiwan avoided similes, metaphors, and idiomatic phrases that make me hungry. 🥟🥟🥟

It's just amazing, the things that China thinks of. Imagine, going to the Moon and exploring the Solar System in 2026. Forward thinking!
China is serious about space, because they know that whoever dominates the Solar System sets the course of human history for the next thousand years or more. Not an exaggeration.

@michaelxpettis view, delivered over two chilly hours in his hutong courtyard: China’s best realistic future looks like Japan — a decade-plus of flat growth while it works off history’s biggest debt overhang. And that’s the optimistic case.

He's been thinking again ...
Trump: I could have won the Vietnam War in a week. They kept bombing forests for years instead of going after Ho Chi Minh City.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Ho Chi Minh City was called Saigon during the war. It was the capital of South Vietnam, the US ally, and was renamed only in 1976. The US did repeatedly bomb North Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, including the 1972 Christmas bombing. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ho_Chi_Mi… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation…
