We know that recessions push people into college, but what are the consequences of this choice on the labor market?

Working on this paper was great (and helped keep me busy/sane during the early months of the pandemic). The road to publication was pretty frustrating at times (perhaps not surprising for a Covid paper), but I’m so happy it’s finally out in the world 🙂

Taught my first in-person lecture since early March 2020. Even with the masks and all, it felt soooo nice 🤓😍
At so many points during the PhD I thought that I was never going to make it, that I wasn’t good enough, that I wasn’t cut out for research.. To see this now.. it just blows my mind 🤯🥰💪😀 Thank you to the amazing mentors and coauthors who believed in me and made this possible!

Thank you Swiss health authority!🇨🇭For 30 CHF they validated my foreign Covid vaccination certificate and gave me a QR code that is valid throughout Europe, making my life soooo much easier 😍
I’m visiting the Utrecht School of Economics and I was given the keys to the visitor’s office.. and to the department bike!! I don’t think it can get more Dutch than this! :) 🚲🇳🇱
Oh, and it’s sooo nice to do a seminar in person again after all this time! 😀
Here is a link to a short blog post summarizing our research (with @JacopoMazza and @ABicakova) on the benefits of starting college during bad economic times 🙂
