What if single-payer healthcare is the wrong debate?
The amount of the check matters more than the number of entities writing it.
Maybe we should debate pricing first.

This thought process from Karoline Leavitt — the idea that Americans are too stupid to know how good they have it right now — is exactly why Republicans are getting their asses kicked tonight. Complete lack of awareness and reality.
The *real* transparency we can all see is the Republican sabotage of Obamacare.
First legislatively - which failed - and now economically.
It was always at risk - and Republicans succeeded by simply letting the clock tick/expire.
The ultimate objective isn't just to make PBM compensation transparent - it should be to make the cost of ALL healthcare rational, consistent, and defensible - including Rx costs.
Anything short of that is just rearranging deck chairs.

Real photo or AI fake, if someone is sharing a nude of you or using one to threaten you, there is free help.
You are not alone.
Please share this with the teens in your life and every adult who cares about them. No one has to face this alone.
Payer rage is easy - and popular - but misguided b/c payers don't set the price for:
$50,000 C-Section
$100,000 CABG
$1,000,000 CAR-T
Sure - payers profit in our Casino Healthcare, but commercial PRICING for inpatient/outpatient TX are uncapped.

Per @KFF, 39% increase in ACA premiums in 2 yrs is remarkable itself but consider it against a backdrop of $23.139B (@UHC alone is $15.874B) in net profits YTD for 4 of the for profit health plans who have reported —w/ 3 major plans reporting this next week.
So, the responsibility for the “affordability crisis” rests squarely w/ these plans + the dozens of non-profit @BCBSAssociation plans + Kaiser itself & others as a non profits who do not publicly report.
Not physicians, hospitals, the #NoSurprisesAct or others that the health plan industry points to—$23,139,000,000 net profit—with Q4 yet to reported as well.

What a chart.
Even the All-In guys seem to have given up on "super intelligence"

This is possibly the reason the White House stopped posting the transcripts of Trump's remarks.
If you read them, you realize very quickly that he is out of his mind.

This is weak sauce. No serious person disputes that single payer would significantly reduce administrative costs!

This is a very important point. "Medicare for All" is far more generous than either Medicare or single-payer in most countries.
Well over 1/3 of Medicare's gross health are spending are covered by cost-sharing or paid for by premiums. And lots isn't covered.
There's a line in @TheSocialMovie that's just pitch perfect:

Dollar General makes $1.5 billion in profits, gives its CEO $8.1 million, spends $700 million on stock buybacks & pays cashiers $8/hour. Over 5,600 Dollar General workers need food stamps & Medicaid paid by U.S. taxpayers.
It robs customers, workers & taxpayers to enrich the 1%.

Tim Miller is on the Charlie Kirk Show and it's not going well for the hosts 👇
HOST: Nobody wanted Renee Good to die more than the left. I think that's very obvious
MILLER: That's an insane thing to say. That's really offensive actually
HOST: They actively get in the face of ICE
MILLER: And the punishment for that should be summary execution?

My heart goes out to the hardworking hospital staff and security team. What happened underscores why incident response plans need testing and how tabletop exercises can prepare teams for ransomware, executive impersonation, and data exposure.

Trust is the most important asset in the current world. Trust is the ground on which we all stand. But we are losing trust in each other and in human institutions, and instead increasingly trust only algorithms and AI.

Lowering premiums isn't the same as lowering HC costs.
Less-regulated plans may reduce premiums (by shifting risk, narrowing coverage, or increasing out-of-pocket exposure), but that's just rearranging the bill - not fixing the real problem. Price.

We absolutely do need to end employer-sponsored insurance (ESI), but we keep debating who should pay for healthcare when we haven't solved the more fundamental problem: what we pay.
