WE FLIPPED the Georgia Public Service Commission! Shelia Edwards flipped a seat, Peter Hubbard defended his — delivering Democrats a majority on the Georgia PSC for the first time in decades. A win for affordable clean energy and the people of Georgia. Congratulations, Shelia and Peter!

The DNC Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis firmly opposes the so-called “Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act” (BAAJA). Action is urgent: the Senate votes November 9 on whether to begin debate on this bill — and we can stop it right there. This wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing bill actually rolls back the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and NEPA. AND it fast-tracks gas pipelines, mining, and data centers, and restricts Tribal sovereignty over sacred lands and clean water. Yes, permitting reform is needed. But this is not it. Act Now: Call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and tell your Senators to oppose BAAJA. Find your Senators: congress.gov/members/find-yo… Read more: climatejusticealliance.org/1…

This weekend she kicked off a big, enthusiastic canvass with him in Berkeley: "His judgment and policy chops are stellar. He truly listens." Sunday 10/25, we're excited to be knocking doors in Berkeley for a councilmember who's spent his career building the Democratic environmental movement. Before Igor Tregub represented Berkeley's District 4 on City Council, he founded the Young Democrats of America's Environmental Caucus — and was its first chair — then went on to chair the California Democratic Party's Environmental Caucus. Council Chair Michelle Deatrick: "I've had the privilege of working alongside Igor for years. He's been crucial to building the Democratic environmental movement." Join us: 2199 California St, Berkeley, CA — 10am PT. RSVP: demclimate.org/Igor

54 years ago today, Congress overrode Nixon's veto to pass the Clean Water Act. Now Trump's EPA wants federal protection only for wetlands that hold water every single day of the year. NRDC: at least 94% of lower-48 wetlands could lose it. floods.org/news-views/policy…
